Advocating for Palestinian rights on campus?

The U.S. government arrested, detained and intends to kick out of the country a political protester, a political protester who is a legal permanent resident and who's married to a woman who is, again, eight months pregnant. That is where we are in Trump's autocratic America. So let's step back and ask a bigger question here. Why Khalil and why now? The Department of Homeland Security is claiming that Khalil has ties to Hamas, but conveniently they aren't offering any evidence of that whatsoever. None. That should set off alarm bells. Since when did this country start deporting people based on unproven accusations?
Again, if it finds out that he is, okay, that's another story. Have you heard something like this before? And think about it. What kind of precedent does that set? Now, if you attend an anti-Trump or an anti-Doge protest in the next few months, could the U.S. government just ship you out of the country? Let's talk about the context here. As I said, Khalil was deeply involved in protests last spring at Columbia, part of a movement pushing the university to divest from companies allegedly profiting from Israel's military actions in Gaza. Those protests, they were loud, they were controversial, and they made a whole lot of people angry. very, very uncomfortable.
