This is our breaking news that we're starting off. We're coming to you an hour early. This evening, because of the breaking news, Charlie Kirk, you guys know Charlie Kirk, has been shot. He is a far right-wing activist, very powerful activist. He was shot at a Utah college event about an hour ago. He is the founder of the conservative youth group organization called Turning Point USA. And they have confirmed from the public relations manager of Turning Point USA that Charlie Kirk has been shot. According to the Associated Press, he's being treated and is in critical condition.
A law enforcement official who was briefed on the shooting told the Associated Press. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the matter. Just so you know, a little background. He started Turning Point USA in 2012. He was 18 years old and soon became a regular presence on cable TV where he leaned into culture wars and heaped praise on then President Donald Trump. The shooter... A suspect is in custody, the college said. No information on the shooter's identity has been released. Now, we're gonna get updates. This story is just happening.
