I love hearing that music, and I know you love hearing it. I know you're excited when that music comes on because that means what? It is time for Lemon Live at 5, The Don Lemon Show, or either our morning show, but it's time for us to go live and for us to talk. And if you hear a little buzzing in the background, it is because I have an extra fan in my studio because it is 850 degrees outside in New York City. 850 degrees. I mean, I'm exaggerating, but if you're here, you know we're having a heat wave, and it is really, really, really hot outside. So, bear with me. I have my ginger ale in here. Don't get it twisted. Friday, I'll have a little something-something in here, but today, this is just ginger ale.

So, thanks for joining us today. I don't even know where to start. I was talking to the producers about where do we start today. And I mean, it was like we're going to go on right on time. And I just started talking to Peter about where do we start today? Well, should we start? Well, there's a lot to talk about. A couple of things. OK, we have some breaking news as it relates to Kamala Harris. You may have heard about it. And then you're going to hear on some of the reporting. Donald Trump goes on another. They call it weave. Right. Is it a weave or is it something else? I don't know. But that's what they call it. A little splash of water here. They call it a weed, but who knows exactly what it is. I think he's having some cognitive issues, if you ask me, because he can't comprehend some things.

I'm just getting a little thing off. Probably if I went to the dentist today. And so that – and then we have, which I think is really, really – and also there is another thing that is bizarre that's happening with the Jeffrey Epstein case. Remember, they were saying that there was – the CBS News report that we had on this morning, that there was something weird that happened with the releasing of – when they released the video, that something did not match up, something is not sitting right, something is not adding up. They said there was – A cursor on the screen, which means it could be a screen grab or that it was taken from a computer rather than the actual surveillance tape. So we're going to ask you, what do you think this strange image is that is in question?
Don Lemon 2:37
And then there is a fight happening between Josh Hawley. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri and Donald Trump, they are... Wow. And then we have a great reporter who's joining us, a senior politics reporter is going to join us to let us know what is going on. But this is the news that we have, which is on our thumbnail, which is happening today. So hit the like, hit the thumbs up, and thank you for joining us. Like and subscribe. You guys know the deal. It affects the algorithm. And we appreciate you joining us here on Lemon Live at 5. Here's the thing. So... Democrats, there is this rule, and it's arcane, but Republicans have done this recently too, this arcane rule that forces, that can force people to comply, even the executive branch and other lawmakers, the judicial branch, all of it, and that apparently the Senate has the power to be able to enact this rule, so to speak, or to set it in motion, right?
Don Lemon 3:42
It's called the Rule of Five. Chuck Schumer is proposing that the Rule of Five be enacted here so that that would compel the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, okay? I will let Chuck Schumer explain it to you and then you can decide what you think. If it has a shot in hell, if you think it's underhanded, Here's Chuck Schumer, the rule of five.
Chuck Schumer 4:14
Old and little known law known as the rule of five to compel the Department of Justice to release the full and complete Epstein files. Under federal law, when any five senators on the Homeland Security Committee call on the executive branch, the executive branch must comply. Our request covers all documents, files, evidence, and other materials in possession of the DOJ, the FBI, related to the case of United States v. Jeffrey Epstein. While protecting the victims' identities can and must be of top importance, the public has a right to know who enabled, knew of, or participated in one of the most heinous sex trafficking operations in history.
