In a sprawling, bizarre, I mean, like, just bizarre, three-hour cabinet meeting today, Trump asserted that his authority as Commander-in-Chief has no limits. No limits. And he said, when it comes to deploying military on American streets. Now, the comment came in response to a reporter's question about Illinois Governor J.B.
Pritzker urging nonviolent resistance amid news that Trump is considering dispatching troops to Chicago. I think it is good that he is urging nonviolence. And look, it is his right. It's people's right to resist. Nonviolence is good, because as we know, Chicago does have a crime problem, and I am concerned about violence, but I'm more concerned about this action or these actions from the administration actually sparking violence, inciting violence, okay? And I quote here, I'm the president of the United States. If I think our country is in danger and it is in danger in these cities, I can do it. I can do anything I want. No problem going in and solving, you know, his difficulties, Trump said. Then he mused for a second time in two days that many people want him to be a dictator.
Lots to discuss, including an update on our story this morning about Donald Trump's health conditions. What is possibly going on with him? But here he is, musing about being a dictator.
But then he goes on television and says, oh, Trump is a dictator. And a lot of people, so the line is that I'm a dictator, but I stop crime. So a lot of people say, you know, if that's the case, I'd rather have a dictator. But I'm not a dictator. I just know how to stop crime.
The thing is, is that everybody around him glazing and laughing as if it is funny. When most people should have been like, is this dude serious? Is this really happening? But instead, apparently, they're all cool with it. Just like they all sit around and praise him, they all laugh at things that are not funny.
