So I want to know how did this discussion about civility turn into... an uncivil war of words. It happened on Morning Joe. I'm going to tell you about that in a moment. And it was really two Republicans or two former Republicans, both of them part of the Republican Party. Officially, one was a sitting congressman. The other one was the head of the Republican Party. I'm talking about Joe Scarborough and Michael Steele. They went at it this morning. Other members of the panel jumped in. Some folks are saying, Joe, you're being a little too defensive so i look i don't want to influence you i'm going to let you watch it and then you figure it out for yourself we also have a ton of news out of the world of tech to go through to this evening for you meta is going full maga there's really no other way to put it meta is going full maga tiktok is facing off before the biden administration at the supreme court
And we're wondering, is the app going to be banned? TikTok, are you concerned? TikTokers, are you concerned that the app is going to be banned? It looks like it. Maybe. Maybe. No decisions yet. So look, call your, I don't know, can you say call your Supreme Court justice? I have no idea. Call your local representatives. Make your appeal if you don't want it banned. Remember, Donald Trump said he had an affinity for social media, especially TikTok, because he believes that social media, especially Twitter, helped him to win the presidency and to stay out of jail. So, and rest assured, again, my producers are monitoring the wildfires in California. If there's a major development, we're going to bring that to you in a moment.
And we're going to give you, I give you my word on that. We're going to follow that. Okay, so let's talk about this thing that broke out. And some people are saying that Joe, mainly Joe and Mika, were called out on their own show. Now, I'm going to let you watch and then I'll give you a little context about exactly why This may be such a touchy subject for them. If you remember the whole rigmarole about making this pilgrimage or this trek down to Mar-a-Lago after Donald Trump was elected and it freaked out their viewers. And folks who said, hey, wait a minute, you guys are the opposition. You've been using the F term, fascism. You've been calling them all these names. You've been the opposition. And all of a sudden, you're down there talking to him to try to work things out.
