The president of the United States has signed a A transgender ban. Trump's new ban on trans athletes. His latest attack on transgender policies. We'll explain. Also, the Trump administration is moving forward with its plans to send immigrants that they have rounded up to Guantanamo Bay. Trump administration plans to use notorious Guantanamo detention facility and nearby tents to hold immigrants.
Also, I told you it was a dark day. A second federal judge. This is some good news, but what they're trying to do is not because they're going to keep at it. And that means next, she too can probably be the defense secretary. So let me explain what's going on. I'll start with the first thing that we talked about, a dark day for marginalized people in this country.
It's a dark day for Muslims and those with Palestinian relatives. It's a dark day for black folks, for black Americans in this country. It is a very dark day for transgender Americans. At a ceremony this afternoon, President Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting transgender women and girls from competing in female sports. And this goes beyond the elementary, secondary school level, goes beyond that. Just in sports, what does that mean for the Olympics that are coming here in 2026? We don't know. We'll see. First, the administration will roll back the Biden's administration guidance on Title IX, a civil rights law that prevents sex-based discrimination in education programs and activities that receive federal funding.
Under the guidance, schools were required to allow trans students to access school sports teams and sex segregated facilities that align with their gender identities. His orders will instead bar students assigned male at birth from participating in girls and women's sports and using women's restrooms.
