So in the chat this morning, listen, I was rushing out trying to get there. And then all of a sudden I realized, hey, my plane is late. My plane is late. So I could have spent more time with the Lemonheads. I did not get to do that. Okay. Guys, you guys wanted me to talk to you about a certain something this morning, and that is Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, right? You wanted me to talk about Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, okay? I'm going to do that. But let me tell you what else we're going to talk about, okay?
We're going to talk about, is this the end of separation of church and state? which is very frightening to me because I always talk about that. That is exactly what my book is about. And that was one of the reasons I wrote the book is because not only were evangelicals and these sort of Christian right-wing Christian nationalists and just Christian nationalists and other religious nationalists, they were trying, they're trying not only to just to, to, not just to blur the line between church and state, but they're trying to erase the line between church and state. And that is what I believe is happening now. We are on a very slippery slope that is almost there. Is it the end of church and state in this country, which is what our country was founded on?
That's a real question, and I'm not being remotely hyperbolic, and I'm gonna show you why. Trump has said that he wants Christian prayer put back in the classroom. He is rumored to pick for the Department of Education a man who fought tooth and nail to push the Bible down the throats of public school students, down the thoughts of public school students. So much is scary and uncertain right now. And I can only imagine how those young children are feeling. And I can only imagine how you guys are feeling as I go around the country. And again, I'm not saying, look, you know, people should be whining and whatever, but people are genuinely nervous and concerned about the future of this country. And I have to figure out what I'm going to do.
Do I give an advice session to people? Do I hold a therapy session? Every single question at the book thing last night was about democracy, was quite frankly about the media. And why isn't the media, in their estimation, they're saying, why isn't the media holding people accountable? Why am I watching broadcast and cable television and they're not doing follow-ups?
