Not just the kind that's all about dirty money or backroom deals, because believe me, there's plenty of that happening too, but the kind of corruption that chips away at the very idea of honest and fair justice in this country, frankly. And I want to talk about what happens when corruption stops hiding and it becomes part of the entire governing philosophy of the United States of America. Let's talk about our illustrious Attorney General, Pam Bondi. Yeah, her. Because what's happening right now in this country under her watch is not just unethical, okay?
It's freaking un-American. And we need to call this shit out. Pam Bondi's making headlines not for upholding the law, but for blatant conflicts of interest that, frankly, are undermining our rule of law. Pam Bondi is supposed to be the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. She's supposed to be the last line of defense for our justice system, for the Constitution. But instead, she's become a firewall for cronyism, cover-ups, and private profit. Why? Well, let's look at her record. Before stepping into the job of Attorney General, Bondi was a lobbyist, and not just for anyone. She worked for some of the most ethically compromised clients in the world. She lobbied for the GEO Group, one of the largest private prison operators in the country.
Now, this is the same company that, in just February, secured a billion-dollar, 15-year contract to run Delaney Hall, the detention facility at the center of the controversy of Newark, New Jersey, last week. Gio's a massive private prison company, and they're not just warehousing U.S. prisoners anymore. they are directly profiting off of Trump's cruel immigration crackdowns. Now, that Newark facility is part of this growing network of detention centers that are being used to imprison undocumented immigrants all over the country. And as we've seen, this administration has weaponized the Department of Homeland Security. They're out here snatching people off the streets, violating due process, ignoring court orders, and frankly trampling all over constitutional rights every day.
So in this context, what happened at Delaney Hall last Friday in my home state of New Jersey is even more outrageous. Newark Mayor Roz Baraka was arrested, as you all saw, by federal agents allegedly for trespassing and interfering with ICE operations. Now, a city mayor handcuffed, perp walked in his own city? This is bullshit. But there's more to the story. As mayor, Baraka sued GEO to block the opening of this detention center, saying it hadn't completed all of its building requirements. It's been controversial for a while. And when the GEO group reached that billion-dollar, 15-year deal, they bragged about it in their message to investors, saying that this was, quote, a big revenue generator.

The 1,000-bed capacity, it's also significant in advancing Donald Trump's goals of expanding these detention facility capacity things all over the country, moving it from 41,000 beds in New Jersey and Michigan and other states to 100,000 beds. Now, notice I said Michigan. Gretchen Whitmer's Love Fest a few weeks ago, remember that, with Trump? Mark my words. This issue is going to come back to haunt her in Michigan also. Pay attention. But that wasn't the only outrage here. There were members of Congress. They were there on an official oversight visit. They were physically roughed up by ICE and Homeland Security investigator thugs. Now, videos show agents shoving, shouting, and blocking these elected officials from accessing the facility.
Now, this is the same Delaney Hall now being run profitably by Pam Bondi's former client. Conflict of interest much? That doesn't even scratch the surface here. These arrests and the abuse of power that we're seeing from DHS and the DOJ, they're not just politically motivated, they're financially motivated.
