Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Hey guys, welcome back to the LA era. Hope you guys are having an amazing day, an amazing week. How am I going? Look, I've got a seven month old teething baby girl with a rash and it is pretty gnarly, I'll be honest. But today... We have got the amazing Lucinda Light, who you guys all met two years, and so did I. We met two years ago on the Australian Married at First Sight season 11.
And I mean, I fell in love with her and I feel like the whole country, plus let's say the globe has actually fallen in love with her. Now, she was not like anyone we'd ever seen on reality TV. In her 40s, completely unapologetically herself, deeply spiritual, wickedly funny, and absolutely magnetic.
And then she left the experiment, and instead of disappearing like most reality TV personalities do... She absolutely exploded. She's done a UK tour. She's got a book, a TV hosting gig with Vicky Patterson, a road trip around Ireland, and now celebs go dating on E4 in the UK.
She has built a global career from one season of Australian reality TV, and I genuinely cannot wait to sit down with her today. This is Lucinda Light. I feel very privileged today and actually quite honoured to have the one and only Lucinda Light in the studio.
Well, I've just got to mirror that straight back at you because I feel deeply honoured to be here looking at the gorgeous Ella May Ding.
That's so weird. I never hear that. It's so beautiful.
I love your name in its entirety.

Chapter 2: What inspired Lucinda Light to join reality TV?
It's great.
On that note, Lucinda, is your real surname Light?
No, it's Riley. So about 15 years ago, I was at a festival and because my name means light, Lucinda, it means like the sparkle on the champagne. Luz, Lucinda, Spanish, Latin.
Okay.
And somebody that I barely knew went, Lucinda Light. And it just struck me. It almost just hit my soul and just went, and I was like, oh my God, that's my name. Wow. You know, and actually I was christened Lucinda, but for the longest time I was called Lucy or Lou.
Wow.
And it was on my 33rd birthday I went, I'm going to reclaim my birth name, Lucinda. Wow. And it's sort of all, I don't know, it all transpired. Actually, it would have been about 10 years ago, 12 years ago.
Wow.
That Lucinda Light came down.

Chapter 3: How did Lucinda Light transition from reality TV to a global career?
Wow. But yeah, it feels very me. Like I just don't feel like Lucinda Riley. Even I'm very proud of the life of Riley and Riley. Yeah. You know, the heritage of my family. I just, um, but I haven't actually changed it by depot. Maybe that might come.
Ooh.
Just can't be bothered with the admin anymore.
Oh, I mean, that's why I'm still ding. So it's been two years since you did Married at First Sight. Two, three years. Yeah.
Well, yeah, I mean, I was just thinking about that then three years since I got married, actually, and the filming happened.
That's right.
But, yeah, two and a half years probably since it came out. And what a wild ride it's been since.
I, like, what haven't you done? It's been a crazy two years. Like, I mean, wow, even when I just think back to you and Timothy. Such a character. Yeah. Bless you, Tim. We love you, Tim. Such an interesting cat.
Yeah, he is.

Chapter 4: What challenges did Lucinda face during Married at First Sight?
Like everyone had a story and everyone revealed a bit about myself. And I think because I put myself up on the shelf, I was getting a bit dusty. Right. It sort of cleared the cobwebs a bit and it got me back into the momentum of dating, which I have been dating a little bit since I've got back to Australia this time.
So celebs go dating. Yes. I create an account to watch it.
Bless you.
And I'm like, okay, amazing. Get on the couch in my little two-hour nap window. The baby's asleep. Amazing. Park up. Sorry, you can't watch this here. Damn it. Okay. So when are we going to be able to watch it?
Well, look, I mean, it would be great if one of the Australian networks would commission us. Yeah. That would be amazing. I mean, at this stage, it's sort of a VPN hot stick.
Yeah.
It's sitting on the archive if you're ever in England on the Channel 4. You can get into it that way. Yeah. It's a great watch. It's very binge worthy.
Yeah.
The ensemble cast that I was with was just a hooch.

Chapter 5: How has Lucinda changed since her reality TV debut?
Now with Celebs Go Dating, you described it as a spiritual journey. Um, which I feel like most people wouldn't describe these sorts of experiences like that. You know, what do you think for celebs go dating? What was your most spiritual moment during filming?
Oh gosh, there was quite a few. I mean, all of these containers, because you know, they've got a start, a middle and an end. They do feel like a medicine journey because you sort of arrive there and set your intention and you're in, you're in the container. And it's sort of, I always see them as opportunities to self-develop. to sort of inquire and to grow.
There was one particular night I had a double rejection from two guys. You know, I remember having a bit of a frog in my throat and going, oh, gosh, this is a bit of a public humiliation and I'm a bit embarrassed. But in that moment, all of the other celebs just sort of enveloped me in this huddle and And I just thought, Lou, it's okay. Just let it go. It's all alignment. It's all frequency.
Again, deep trust. They weren't right. You know, it's another journey of letting go. Like, don't take it personally. I really try to. I am a bit of a sensitive being, but aren't we all?
Yeah.
But I do try to live by the Toltec traditions, the four agreements. I don't know if you've.
Oh, I've read that.
Brilliant. Brilliant.
That book changed a lot for me. I read that when I was going through a lot about a year and a half ago.

Chapter 6: What unique experiences has Lucinda had in her travels?
Do you know human design?
I do.
Do you know what you are?
I am a manifestor... Generator.
Generator. You're a manifesting generator, which is a beautiful thing to be. Well, I'm a pure generator. And what we are is just the cogs in the wheel. And we just respond to life as it happens. We're not great at manifesting. We're just better responding to opportunities in life as they roll in. That's the pure generator, which I am.
I see you just like soaring with everything that you're doing.
Bless you.
But I do, I mean, I've traveled and, you know, been on the highs and just taken every opportunity as well. And I remember times it would get lonely.
The good old loneliness epidemic. It is upon a bit, isn't it?

Chapter 7: How does Lucinda view relationships after her reality TV experiences?
Yeah, but I'm definitely a high-functioning one. And because I'm quite a creative polymath, I sort of get a lot of my – and I would say I'm ADD because I'm quite – there's probably a bit of the attention deficit but not so much the hyperactivity, I would say. But, yeah, all of my creative interests and the hundred tabs and all the different things going on, the tendrils are out.
And it sort of works for me well.
And I think that it can. Because I, I mean, I definitely, everything that you just said is also. Yes. But it's, yeah, it can be quite questionable how I even get things done if I'm doing 10 things at once. It's just crazy how things.
And you flow with it like Shakti. It's very fluid and energetic.
But I feel like my whole life every day is on 1.5 speed. It's like... I should start doing that.
It's all about optimal living, right?
It's like we've got to... Yeah. Because I can talk quite slow too, like if I'm processing something or speaking out loud. But I need to listen to things fast. And, like, I feel like that might be a bit of an ADHD thing. Proper pain?
Yeah.
But then you're maybe not absorbing, like you're not really taking it in. Sometimes I do worry that I'm not really taking a moment to smell the rose.

Chapter 8: What insights does Lucinda share about her spiritual journey?
And you really engage.
I honestly like forgot that we were recording a podcast for the listeners.
Yeah.
Maybe you can leave us with a piece of advice.
It's been dingle dangling around my head for a while, but I would just have to say love it or leave it. Like love her or leave her. Like what are you doing? Like what am I doing? We've got to check ourselves. And if it's not aligned, if it's creating dissonance in our soul and our being and we're not enjoying her, we need to reassess. And it's okay to let go.
You know, energy and time is a finite resource. And I think if we can keep really going with our heart and doing what we love, sharing with the people that we love and, you know, feeling good about ourselves, you kind of can't go wrong.
Love it or leave it.
Love it or leave her.
I love that.
