Okay guys, how are we? Welcome back. Another beautiful week in the Ella era. Now, today's guest, look, some might say it's done, it's a little bit late to the party, but I thought, you know what? He flew so under the radar after Married at First Sight, and the opportunity came to have him on and get to know him a little bit more, so I thought, why not? Now, I think he was one of the most quietly compelling people on maths, and he was the man who walked out of Final Vows before his match Alyssa could even finish reading hers, who says half his personality was cut from the show, who came in wanting to ditch his Playboy reputation and find something real. Nobody has really sat down with David Momoa properly yet until now. This is David. So David, you haven't done many interviews since Married at First Sight. I want to know why have you said yes to me today?
How has David's life changed since appearing on MAFS?
Honestly, I felt like, you know, I had given it a lot of time since leaving Married at First Sight and I felt like at this point in my journey, you know, I've learned a lot and now I'm able to reflect without any sort of bias or emotional clouding. So, yeah, it just felt right. And why not? Like, it's a big dog, Ella.
Oh, I'll take it. I'll take it. Now, I mean, yeah, it's been some time since filming and it's been some time since the show's aired. Do you feel like you're back to yourself now?
Honestly, I feel amazing. I feel like I'm very β I feel like I learned a lot from the show. I feel like I was someone who did a lot of growth before the show. But coming off the show, I'm even better. So, yeah, I feel great.
And I think people forget that as a viewer, we see obviously this crazy show. But for the participants, you guys go on this show and you do actually come off it β
What was it like for David to maintain faith during the show?
hopefully a better person because you actually do learn yeah you learn more about you in relationships also like dynamics personalities like you do come off i think grown you know well that's what you'd hope well you would hope after three months yes you would hope look some maybe not so much but hey um now how would you say that your life's changed now since maths
Oh, well, for one, pretty obviously attention. You know, you go out, people are always coming up. People are really nice. I mean, I've met so many lovely people commending me for my time on there. Also, I guess, you know, the opportunities that come your way, like being here, for example. Yeah, it's pretty cool. If I wasn't on maps, I don't think I'd be here. It's pretty crazy.
And you said that you get lots of DMs from girls.
Yeah, I do.
Yeah. Yeah.
I'm not gonna lie. Yeah.
What led to David's shocking final vows walkout?
You know, the dating pool is definitely quadrupled.
That's crazy. Like we were just saying off the record, like it's actually crazy when men come off these reality shows, like the influx of women, married women, like women in relationships, they just want to like, they want to know you.
Yeah, yeah. I think it's crazy. You get like the women that, you know, want to just know you. The women that are just, what's the word, just interested in finding out about maths. So they're like diehard fanatics. They're probably not interested in you, but they want to know the lowdown, what happened behind the scenes. Like what actually happened. Because they're very invested. Yeah. And then you get the ones that are, they're ready to get married to you.
Yeah. So yeah, there's three types of women.
How did David's past relationships influence his MAFS experience?
That's crazy. So the dating pool is... Yeah. Quite large.

Now, you were born in Nigeria. You moved to Australia at the age of 12. Yeah. What was that like as a kid?
It was a culture shock. Coming here at the age of 12, obviously at 12, I've still spent a lot of time, you know, in Africa, Nigeria, a couple other countries.
