What's up, guys? Welcome to a brand new episode today at DCTV. Hey, a lot has been going on in MMA over the course of the last week. Guys saying no rematches from Justin Gaethje to Ilya Toporia. To Ilya Toporia's medical diagnosis seemingly not being as long as we might have anticipated he would be out. Him being back or potentially could be back soon. As Sean Strickland said, he's ready to come back in December. Obviously, Islam Makhachev is getting ready to fight Ian Gary. And Charles Oliveira has a lot to say. So I'm going to spend my time today on Charles Oliveira. Look. Charles Oliveira, in his last fight with Max Holloway, became the BMF champion. And anytime you can secure a title in the UFC, that is to be celebrated.
He won that fight in the way that was probably the smartest, easiest way to win that fight. But our expectation may have led us to believe that we were going to see a different fight. Ultimately, I believe, at least in my opinion, Charles Oliveira lost the Conor McGregor fight when he beat Max Holloway in the way that he did. Because I'm not sure Conor McGregor was willing to fight against someone that could potentially take him down, control him, the entirety of a 25-minute fight. So Max Holloway gets to fight. Many a times I've said Max has lost.
