What is sploshing and how does it differ from regular food play?
The person who is sitting on the cake is in the dominant role and there is this whole sort of like, you know, you might like to kiss my arse or even go a little bit further, but you're not going to. You're going to have to basically like just try to get to me through this
cake.
Food. You traditionally eat it, but have you ever thought about putting it on your body? What about putting it on someone else's body? Better yet, what about eating it off someone's body? I'm Nat Tenchich and we're about to explore the world of sploshing and food play and how you can get a little bit lewd with the food in the bedroom. Joined now by Mistress Tokyo, she's dominatrix and friend of the show. Welcome and thanks for being here.
Thank you for having me back on the show. Oh,
always. It's a pleasure. So why do people love to mess around with food in the bedroom? We've talked about connecting over food dating-wise. We've talked about eating foods that make you feel a little bit more sexual. Let's talk about actually bringing food into your play. Why are we into it?
I think we're into it because it just basically is a really, it can be a really sensual experience. Just the quality of the foods that you might pick to basically to splosh in as it is called. There's also this beautiful like dotage of like exploring the food on your lover's body or on your own. So there's a notion of displaying yourself covered in like pavlova or drizzling honeycomb honey over your lover's chest. I mean, like, doesn't that sound languid and opulent and indulgent?
Why do people enjoy incorporating food into bedroom play?
I think another thing that I've also noticed is that when I've staged situations where people can explore splashing, sometimes it just gets people's boundaries down as well. So there's the body experience, the sensuality of it, but there's also just the pure, fun, unadulterated, childlike play that we're told that we're supposed to be all tense about sex and, oh, I'm supposed to be like this and you're supposed to be like that. But if you just put a pavlova on it, suddenly it becomes fun and it basically gets you to focus on your body so you can become embodied and you can enjoy the sensation of the material, whether it's, you know, literally like, as I said, honey or mango or... I mean, yeah, that's a reaction.
Yeah.
I mean, and it's fun and it's a bit silly as well. Like,
you know, it's
like we're not normally allowed to do this or not allowed. You can do whatever you want, but it's like, you know, this isn't a thing that normally happens. This is kind of an act that's reserved for another time. So it can kind of make you feel a bit excited, like you're breaking the rules, right?
Yeah. Absolutely. But that's what Fetish and Kink is about. It's about basically taking a taboo and meeting it head on and breaking down those boundaries around what we think we should be doing and who's watching you do what you're doing and then just going for it within informed consent.
What are some more ideas? You've mentioned a couple there, but what are a few more ideas for incorporating food into your play? I
think that it's a choice of food. Maybe choose together what you might like to explore. Or, of course, find out what your lover likes. I mean, I mentioned pavlova because I love pavlova. and i actually um i've organized events where i've booked pavlovas to be made just for the event and even for my birthday last year i booked one to be eaten and one to be sploshed I'm serious.
Which foods are safe or risky for sploshing and why?
And you people are listening. You know who you are. So pick something together or pick something as a surprise. Like if someone surprised me with a pavlova, I'd be like, great. Obviously pick something which is sort of expounds on the visceral and delicious tendencies of the body of the flesh. Like, as I said, you know, honey or cream or, you know, delicious fruits, things that look like genitals, right? look like your lover's breast or, you know, whatever you're fixated on, their lover's bottom or whatever, and pick foods that are basically like really conducive to you sliding and slipping and exploring the tactile sensation of the body together.
