Good morning and welcome into the Hyundai Studios inside the Miller Electric Center. Time for Jags A.M. We got the whole new crew here on Thursdays. Mark Duffner and John Osier alongside. We've got big things. We've got a new segment we call If coming up a little bit later. We'll also hear from Kai Fields. Kai Fields. It's the Fields Auto Group. Kai Stevens to talk with Cody Rourke about the Jags and the Broncos. Ready to get started? So am I. Big thing number one, prove it. Let's be honest. All week long we've heard since the Jaguars 34 to 10 win over the Bronx the Browns is you gotta go beat the Broncos now. Because the Browns are the Browns. The Jaguars have always been in a position where they've had to prove it to the rest of the league.
It's just been their reality, and they're more than willing to go and do it at Empower Field at Mile High. We asked yesterday, Basil Tutin, the Jaguars running back, about it. And as you'll hear, he doesn't seem too concerned. He started talking about football.
Just like any other week, you know, just do the thing that we need to do. Um, you know, for me, you know, being on the rank keys, uh right land marks and then, you know, the O line pass protecting, uh being on the screws with their targeting in the run game and just the offense and defense, you know, in general, special teams, just doing the thing we do best, we train for. And I think just going out there and being us is the is the biggest thing that'll, you know, help us come out with a W.
John, I think that's one thing that stood out about this team all week long. They're not worried about proving anything to anyone except the Broncos and themselves. Go play good football and don't worry about what's on social media.
Yeah, and I think it may help that they went out there and did What they need to do Sunday, they did last December when they went out and really handled the Broncos. I'm not saying that means they can go out there and and not play well and handle the Broncos, but Duff it you know, being at that game, uh there's some NFL games during the regular season that feel different. The energy and execution and physicality that it took to win that game. They have to repeat it. They know what it takes 'cause they did it. Uh it it was a different kind of regular season game, a different, you know, t prove it, whatever. I I think the Jaguars win this game, but it's gonna it's gonna need to take an effort and a focus like that.
Well I don't think there's any question about it. You know, and they demonstrated that really when they played against Cleveland. They played at the Jaguar level, not at Cleveland's level. So there's a maturity in the outlook and attitude on this football team. That that they'll come into play against Denver right now. You're gonna play a team that's that's desperate right now, that's been embarrassed. You're gonna get their best shot. But I like our chances right now with the attitude of our team.
One thing Brian, I loved what Liam Cohen said after the game on Sunday about never worrying about this team being prepared. I thought that said a lot about this franchise and as you said, I think they're I I think they have to go approve all of that stuff on Sunday.
Yeah, John, they're obviously in a good place, and they intend to show the Broncos and the rest of the National Football League that they are a consistent football team. And that's really the word with our second. Trevor has proven it. Over the last nine games, his numbers are off the charts. And the Jaguars, no coincidence, are undefeated. Let's take a look at those numbers. You can see he's near the top of the charts in the National Football League in terms of touchdowns, passer rating. efficiency, all of these things are in his favor. So I asked the head coach on Wednesday, what's the next step? What does he have to do to play at a super high level with consistency? And he had a really good answer.
I thought it was a really good start to building off of the things from last year that we we really liked and some of the areas in which we wanted to continue to improve and thought he took care of the football as well on Sunday, which was a huge deal for us.
