Uh uh you know what? I actually found some shade. Come on, there
wasn't any out there.
There was a there was a little bit over there. They had these pretty neat little trailer things at the Saints um training facility. And they're basically frozen boxes. We have one in Jacksonville, have you not found it yet? Yeah, it's yeah, it's on the far northern, northwestern side of the field. It's a long way way over there. And uh but they got these two ice boxes where the players can go inside and cool off like in really cold temperatures and the players were all utilizing it and I was actually utilizing the shade of it. Just trying to be close to it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I w I found my way underneath of one of the uh Jaguars videographers uh stations and they have like this uh biminy top that would go on a boat.
But it actually is on a uh film trailer. Stand trailer thing. Like a boat. Yep. So I was able to steal a little bit of shade from that. Nobody handed you Tom Benson's parasol and let you walk around the field with that. No, no, by the way, that's pretty cool that you bring that up because at the Saints training facility, if you look at their indoor training facility all the way up in the apex of the roof, there's a big circle up there that says T B. And it has the silhouette of Tom Benson with that umbrella thing that he used to tote around. A lot of people don't know what his parasol is. And I'm one of them.
You're refined, I would figure in Virginia, at the University of Virginia, Thomas Jefferson didn't have a parasol.
Parasol is something you sprayed under your armpits.
You know? Joint practice. It's the new preseason, isn't it?
Well no, I'm excited about it because it's a great it's a great chance to evaluate the entire roster. You know, typically in years past you would have uh you know, uh everybody would get reps uh reps in a practice and then people still got reps in the game. And now you get the starters a lot of reps in this practice and then you get the reps in the game with your younger players, which I like that because you know that's that's the ultimate test. That's the ultimate evaluation. And I want to see those guys under the lights, even though some places don't have lights. He plays in the daytime, but you know what I'm saying. And under the lights, so to speak. Because you just don't have a whole lot of a history with those players.
And it gives you a little bit more of a gauge of what that player is going to be So is it fair to say
That the joint practices are about getting ready for the season and the preseason game is about developing the roster. Because once you get into the regular season, it isn't about development anymore. It's about winning week to week. That's right. So this is the opportunity for them to coach guys from New Orleans to Carolina to Tampa to see who gets better, to see who's got a spot. This is this is getting ready. This is already
I like it. I like it like this, you know, and then some people would say no and and I get some fans w would uh you know, for a long time fans would scream about, you know, preseason games and the prices and all the players are are not playing a whole lot. It's not like a real game. You know, and I I think through the years I think the fans have almost kind of learned to understand what it's about.
