you? I'm doing great. Glad to be with both of you guys, really. Both of you guys, really. Nice to have you. It's a thrill for me.
Thrill. Wow, we're you know we all hit the close music. You don't get any better than that. Done. Show over, folks. Um, we have a big show for you. Let's start with this. Let's hear from the head coach about his thoughts on the joint practice session. Both of you guys were there. We're going to talk about it extensively here between four and five o'clock, and then Tony Biselli will join us for Jags HQ. But here's head coach Liam Cohen. with his initial thoughts at his press conference following yesterday's joint practice session.
I thought today was a good step in the right direction in terms of running the football and getting stuff targeted and communicated the the right way. I was pleased with the way the backs were hitting the holes. You know, still tough to evaluate the second and third level, like if what the yards actually come out to be. But I was pleased with at least the line of scrimmage at times. You know, they've got some guys up front that I've a lot. lot of respect for on their D line and I thought our guys played hard.
Listen, he did not say he was pleased with anything after the joint practice in New Orleans. So for him to come out so quickly and say, I liked what I saw, well, the right word is response, Jeff. We talked about it in the hotel in New Orleans last week. How do you get this team to respond?
Well, I mean, that's exactly what you're looking for as a coach, you know, is a response in a positive fashion and uh you know, thank goodness you had another joint practice. I mean, if you didn't have that opportunity as a player Y you know, you're sitting there scratching your head going, Where are we head? You know, and and to go against Carolina and to come out and do pretty well. And and I'm not saying that they dominated the practice, but they they had a a very physical even battle at times and at times they got the best of the Carolina Panthers. I thought it was a a really good day, Duff overall.
Oh, I thought it was excellent. And again, I'm sure that coach challenged these guys coming off. I wasn't there at the New Orleans uh joint practice, you guys were, but you know, whatever it was, I know this much. They came out fast, they came out physical. Uh I think they, as you said, responded properly as far as that's concerned. And I'll tell you one real quick thing. I thought the work they got, live work they got in special teams, that Heath Farwell set up in terms of
It's Heath Farwell's drill. I guess it was even better than what they're doing. Opted to do in New Orleans, superb.
Yeah, New Orleans's special teams was kind of an afterthought. Yeah. You know, but then again they had like ninety snaps on offense and ninety snaps on defense. So where's the room for special teams, right? Not much. Uh there wasn't a whole lot. And you know, h how do you know that Liam was not pleased with the performance in New Orleans? Quite simply.
