luminous. This was a great week.
We didn't this didn't always exist. You know, when they went to seventeen regular season games, they eliminated a preseason game, and that left a week off. Now it's not off. They're working. You were on the practice field. They're working. But it it sure is nice after the craziness of camp and the preseason to have this week to kind of get ready for what's coming. I would think two doubles.
from a coaching standpoint you would like it because it allows you to kind of get settled a little bit. Um you know, because during training camp it's fast and furious, there's no time to do anything, and you don't spend any time with family that's gonna amount to much. And this kind of gives you a little bit of break to kind of get re energized, but then also to kinda get the last pieces of your roster put together before you hit the ground running.
Yeah, I think that's a key component right now. You got a chance to really without you know, panicking, uh Take time and do a good job of evaluating your players, see who else is out there on the waiver wire, which they're constantly doing. And it gives you also time to kinda get settled in on your preparation for the game week, you know, all that stuff.
Yeah, and I will say that um there's a lot of guys that uh are happy that they made an NFL roster over the weekend, but don't get comfortable. Not for not so fast. It's it's not yet we got a lot to talk about. And the reason why, and the reason I I say this is that look, you gotta be on the roster, I think it's like on Wednesday of game week or whatever. I think
it's after four o'clock on Tuesday of game week. Correct.
Exactly. To be able to be guaranteed your salary if you're a vested veteran and uh as a younger player you're not guaranteed anything.
So the evaluation process is continuing is what you're saying. It never ends.
And that's tough on those young players now, guys that are on the bubble as far as that's concerned, because every day they're kinda looking around, you know, to see if they're gonna be here or not.
And I think sometimes you gotta remind 'em of that. That look, this is not scholarship anymore. That's exactly this is a job and it's competitive and there's a lot of guys out there that are gonna be
wanting your job. Normally we would not even think about talking about the last preseason game. But I wanna share something with you guys because it was so much fun from my perspective. Have you seen the clips of Liam with the headsets on talking to us?
I watched it on Jaguars dot com, Brian, and and amazing stuff. Unbelievable. Amazing stuff.

I've been a broadcaster for 32 years. This is as much fun as I've had to be a good thing. He was part coach, part fan, part broadcaster.

It was great TV. And and that's what you have to do, honestly, in a preseason game, where you're telling people we're not playing starters. You gotta give them a reason to tune in. And they threw this idea at Liam because Sean McVeigh had done it in Los Angeles. He not only said no, he was an enthusiastic participant. I'm trying to imagine Tom Coughlin doing the exact same thing.
