How does Travis Hunter describe his comeback after a ten‑month injury layoff?

Unknown 0:00
It's gonna be something like ten months and some change since you were last on the field for a game. What is that moment on Sunday gonna be like for you?
Travis Hunter 0:08
Uh really just go out there and play football. Just to reestablish my my playstyle back on the football field, let everybody know what I can do.
Unknown 0:15
Is there excitement, is there anxiety, what what other feelings, is it just football for you?
Travis Hunter 0:20
Yeah, it's really just football, but I'm really happy to be able to go back out there and play football again.
Unknown 0:25
You looking forward to that first hit?
Travis Hunter 0:27
Uh yeah, I'm I don't care about no hits. I've been playing football for a long time.
Unknown 0:32
Well how was training camp for you? I know we talked to you a few times but just kinda now that you had a chance to kinda evaluate everything you were able to do. Uh
Travis Hunter 0:40
I was a little rusty starting out. Like you said, it's about to be ten months since I played a real down to football, so it was a it started off a little rusty but I started to get back in my grooves towards the end of training camp.
Unknown 0:49
What was it like being able to spend a lot of time with Coach Kemp's defense and just kinda all of the guys? Uh it seemed like they shifted your snaps heavily towards defense, towards the end.
Travis Hunter 0:58
Uh it just helped a lot, being able to be comfortable when I'm on the field with the guys, uh, let them know that they can trust me.

What challenges did Hunter face returning to practice and how did he shake off the rust?

Travis Hunter 1:04
I'm gonna be able to do my job, you know, I'm gonna be in the right spot when I need to be.
Unknown 1:08
Are there any kind of nerves just stepping back out on the field 'cause it's been so long?
Travis Hunter 1:13
Uh no, no nerves. I'm really excited to be able to be able to go back out there and play.
Unknown 1:17
What's uh more exciting, getting to get your first catch in a game again or make your first hit?
Travis Hunter 1:23
Just being able to be on the football field for a down, really.
Unknown 1:27
Is that one of the things you missed the most, just being out there with the guys, being in the huddle, that kind of thing?
Travis Hunter 1:31
Uh yeah, 'cause I everybody know, I can't sit on the sideline. I don't like sitting on the sideline. I I didn't like coming to the games last year because I really wanna be out there on the field with him so
Unknown 1:40
And then the the coach has talked a lot about the communication of chemistry in the secondary being so important. How important is it for you guys just to be tight knit like that? Okay, know whatever you think and that way's doing.
Travis Hunter 1:50
Uh we we kinda have to, you know. You have ri you really have no choice, you know. A lot of teams gonna try to throw the ball back there so we all gotta be able to communicate, be comfortable, uh and we gotta be on the same page.
Unknown 2:01
You've been thinking about that first interception getting that?

Why is communication with the secondary so important for the Titans' defense?

Travis Hunter 2:04
Uh no, not really. Just going out there and playing with my team and just being able to com compete with them.
Unknown 2:09
I talked to Coach Rouge and he said he tells you often it's you versus you. Just kinda having that reaffirmation and somebody to tell you like cut out all the outside noise, all of the talking, it's you versus you. What is that like having a guy like that? Uh
Travis Hunter 2:22
just been able to remind myself uh it's me versus me. You know, sometimes the talent not up to my level so I gotta continue to uh just continue to be technical focused on my details and just be able to be comfortable out there and just continue to be Travis.
Unknown 2:36
How different does it feel maybe this time now than it did a year ago? I mean you've played games at this point. I mean you've had all the time with the playbook to know the scheme and everything under your belt. Is it just going out there and just being you now?
Travis Hunter 2:48
Uh yeah, just going out there being me, going out there and play with the guys again, just being comfortable. How much does that time on task kinda help? Uh it helped a lot actually. You know, being able to just focus on football really is what I that's all I had to do. You know, I was down. I couldn't go out there and play, so I really just had a chance to sit back, relax and just be able to watch football and continue to gain knowledge.

How does the “one game at a time” mindset shape the team’s season outlook?

Unknown 3:08
Is there something from that perspective that you can take with you out there on the field where you kinda did get a little bit of a a different view of things?
