How did the team overcome a 20‑point halftime deficit to win?
You know, always good to win. Um you know, appreciate uh and and like the response in the second half. Um started slow obviously with the uh You know. crummy kickoff coverage that led to a touchdown. Aside from that, I thought our defense kinda played pretty well. Obviously got in a couple of two minute situations, but uh really, you know, proud of the guys in the response, especially in the run game.
How about the response just in the second half? I mean you come out of the gates after uh obviously a pretty clunky first.
Yeah. Not ideal. Being down twenty to six at the half. Um, you know, touchdown drive to open it up, ten plays, seventy nine yards.
What adjustments did the offense make in the second half?
Uh I thought Carter Bradley settled in, did some nice things. Jamari Taylor and DJ ran hard. It was you know, that's kind of what we were hoping to see was a response.
wild was it that you didn't get a timeout on either play.
That's the football gods, you know, working in your favor, I guess, in those situations, but um, you know, i it's just kinda wild the way the the game the game goes.
get something early out of uh Williams and and uh camp.
Yeah, I mean I thought they were yeah I thought they were solid. Obviously you know, C J had the one drop. Thought Josh could have maybe taken advantage of the second punt return where he had a lot of room. Um a lot of good learning ops and and learning moments for these guys. Uh so many getting first time NFL exposure today and and so many of 'em. And so a lot of great learning ops and and stuff to clean up.
Which rookie performances stood out during the game?
Gallic pania drops. Yeah.
Yeah, touchdown. Uh great ball. Yeah.
Um I mean is is is that kind of what it's all about? Yeah.
That's right. It's what it's all about. It's like Carter threw a great ball, um, you know, tight window, great throw. Thought he came down with it, ended up losing it late. Um and then had a big time double move at the end uh to make a play to put us in scoring position to win the game.
How did special teams impact the momentum of the matchup?
So um, you know, proud of him, proud of the the response from those guys. Joey Aguilar's first uh NFL completion is on a double move. Grant wasn't really letting him settle in there. It was good. Uh sometimes those are better where you don't have to think as much. You can just kinda let it rip.
think of Grant and what do you think of yourself uh and the roles that you guys were in today? Yeah,
it was good. I thought the communication was solid. Um thought Grant did a nice job kinda settling at halftime. I've been in those moments where you're not a lot's working and and you're frustrated and you don't really have a ton to go to and it was really just like let's just go downhill. and just run and run it and get downhill and I thought he did a nice job of mixing it up when he needed to and um he was calm, cool, collected. I was I was happy for him.
What concerns does the coaching staff have about injuries and depth?
trouble. Abdullah flashed uh twice in the first half, special teams and a sack. Yeah, Yasir did some good things.
Yeah, he's he did some nice things on special teams, had the sack, played with good energy, played physical. I was happy for Yasir.
You got violent and and uh I'm out quick. Yeah. Was that because of tumo or just
that was more so the plan. We just wanted to get him a little bit of work early. It was a longer drive. Um just kinda wanted to get those guys out of there, get 'em some work, get 'em some uh some reps and then get 'em out.
Did you get a chance to get pregnant? I didn't get to.
What are the next steps for the team heading into training camp?
I didn't get
to see like ton individually. Um, you know, I think he there was a couple of things he had to settle in and and slow down a little bit, but um, you know, I'll have to go watch tape.
I know you've talked about it a bit with the injuries, but I mean is it does it build more concern for you when you see just operationally tuma goes down?
Yeah, it's kinda unfortunately we got that bug at the moment, you know, we just gotta kinda get through it. Um, we've got uh you know, a w two weeks of good work that we need to take a step in the in the right direction, both physically, conditioning, we have to practice. Like we're we're gonna go pads a few times this week. We got the joint.
