Chapter 1: What is the premise of the podcast episode featuring Caitlin, David, and Miranda?
For those who know that questioning everything includes questioning this show's existence. The Last Show with David Cooper.
Welcome back to The Last Show. I am Caitlin Greene in sort of for David Cooper right now. David Cooper is actually sitting across from me couples therapy style with a special guest.
Today's guest, someone truly like putting the capital S in special and not because of her credentials, although she has them and not because of her insight, although that too is formidable, but because against all odds and evidence, she is dating the host of this radio show. She has willingly entered into a relationship with none other than David Cooper.
We are joined today by his girlfriend, Miranda. Miranda, thank you for joining us.
Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to be here.
Okay, so I would like some insight a little bit into the relationship that you share with David. How often is he chewing gum when you guys are together?
If there's not food in his mouth, he's probably chewing gum.
Yeah. Okay. This is my experience too. Like moments before we do any sort of like radio hit together, I feel like it gets put next to him on a desk, just sort of stuck there.
Oh, David.

Chapter 2: How did Miranda and David decide to watch Heated Rivalry together?
Do you want to watch it with me? Not thinking that he would. Cause it's a romance and that's not really his vibe. And he was like, oh yeah, no, I do want to watch that. Let's watch it together. But we've both been traveling. And so it's like, take it forever to get to this point. And then on Sunday night, I was like, I want to watch two episodes. And he's like, I'm tired.
And I was like, I want to watch two episodes. And he's like, he didn't say anything. And then we watched one episode and I wanted to watch another one. As I had said, he was like, why are you making me watch more TV? Is this compelling radio? I don't know.
Unclear. No, but this feels very relationshipy. And this is what happens when a couple decides to watch a show together and one has to wait for the other, but one is more interested in starting it and getting into it. And the other one's kind of like one foot over the fence, but not really.
You have to watch ahead, but then lie to your partner and say you didn't. That's what you have to do.
A little bit. I've never done that. I've done it.
I haven't. You have to sell the lie though. You have to really like, okay.
Well, so heated rivalry for anyone who hasn't been paying attention to all of the activity on the internet is in fact the quote unquote gay hockey show as David describes it. But it was based on a book series and it is a love story that happens between, you know, ostensibly the two biggest players in the like fake NHL of the show.
A lot of people think this is like Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin because one is Canadian and kind of like run of the mill and the other one is Russian. So that's the correlation that people are drawing. I'd like to know, David, as a straight man, when you were watching this, how did you feel watching this in bed, I'm assuming, with your girlfriend?
Because you've told me that that's where you guys watch TV.

Chapter 3: What are the initial impressions of Heated Rivalry from Miranda and David?
So it's pretty low commitment. I don't know what the next season has been renewed for in terms of episodes. I hope we get at least eight episodes.
agree because i really do i want to see them now together in this relationship because again spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't yet watched the show they really struggle with like being who they are um and i hope that the second season you see a lot more of them being more openly who they are i feel like i'm dancing around that hopefully kind of well Okay.
And is this a thing that happens in your relationship where one of you will like a show and you have to work to convince the other one to get into it and then you both like it in the end? Or how does that usually play out?
That's exactly how it plays out. Yeah. Although she's harder to convince on sci-fi and I'm harder to convince on romance. But I do. I like romance. I do. I just don't love it.
You like Outlander. That's crazy behavior. If you're going to say I don't like romance.
Yeah, I know. I've watched it on my own too. I don't know what's going on with me. It's nice. You know, Jamie and what's her name? Jamie's the hot guy, the redhead in that show.
Claire.
Jamie and Claire on Outlander.
I've never seen even one minute of that show.

Chapter 4: What themes are explored in Heated Rivalry that resonate with viewers?
Miranda, my girlfriend, see her, I don't know, on this show occasionally.
On the streets of New York. Miranda and I will just go back to DMing. I'm so excited for the new season of Summer House, by the way. Oh my God, I can't wait.
