Welcome back to The Last Show. I am Caitlin Greene in sort of for David Cooper right now. David Cooper is actually sitting across from me couples therapy style with a special guest. Okay, so I would like some insight a little bit into the relationship that you share with David. How often is he chewing gum when you guys are together?
If there's not food in his mouth, he's probably chewing gum.
Yeah. Okay. This is my experience too. Like moments before we do any sort of like radio hit together, I feel like it gets put next to him on a desk, just sort of stuck there.

I guess I was wrong. Here we are. Caitlin, you're not here to full attack me, although that is a good angle. There's something very special me and Miranda did that you were going to interview us about.
Yes, there is a real reason why I'm here to interview the two of you. And it's not just so that Miranda and I can gang up on you. It's because I want to talk to you guys about the sexual wonder, the pop culture phenomenon that is heated rivalry.
The gay hockey show. And I feel weird calling it that.
Yeah, you got to stop calling it that. It feels like you're underselling it because it's so much more than the gay hockey show. Miranda, you've seen this. Have you seen it in full or how much of it have you watched?
We've watched four episodes.
Oh, thank goodness you made it to episode four. Okay, so you made it past the first two. Yeah. And you watched it together. And did you watch this solo first and then you invited David to join you and waited?
No, I've been trying to watch the show for like a month. And all of my friends are like, you have to watch the show. And I'm such a TV head. And I'm like, are you sure it's not too late? And they're like, no, no, just watch it. And I told David, I was like, I'm going to watch it.
How did Miranda and David decide to watch Heated Rivalry together?
Do you want to watch it with me? Not thinking that he would. Cause it's a romance and that's not really his vibe. And he was like, oh yeah, no, I do want to watch that. Let's watch it together. But we've both been traveling. And so it's like, take it forever to get to this point. And then on Sunday night, I was like, I want to watch two episodes. And he's like, I'm tired. And I was like, I want to watch two episodes. And he's like, he didn't say anything. And then we watched one episode and I wanted to watch another one. As I had said, he was like, why are you making me watch more TV? Is this compelling radio? I don't know.
Unclear. No, but this feels very relationshipy. And this is what happens when a couple decides to watch a show together and one has to wait for the other, but one is more interested in starting it and getting into it. And the other one's kind of like one foot over the fence, but not really.
You have to watch ahead, but then lie to your partner and say you didn't. That's what you have to do.
A little bit. I've never done that. I've done it.
I haven't. You have to sell the lie though. You have to really like, okay.
Well, so heated rivalry for anyone who hasn't been paying attention to all of the activity on the internet is in fact the quote unquote gay hockey show as David describes it. But it was based on a book series and it is a love story that happens between, you know, ostensibly the two biggest players in the like fake NHL of the show.
