Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
I'm David Cooper. This is The Last Show. And in animals getting into the Christmas spirit news, we go to a Baptist church in Houston, Texas, where a nativity scene was going on, a Christmas spectacular event, and an animal really got into the Christmas spirit, as previously said. We are joined by Santa Claus, otherwise known as Foreign Correspondent in London, England, Tony Five.
Tony, welcome to the program.
David, season's greetings to you and greetings of the season, my friend. My favourite time of the year. Is it? Yeah, it is. I do really like it. I'm a very festive person. And in keeping with the festivities, I love nativities. I try to go to my niece's ones. Like kids' nativities are kind of funny. Everybody falls off the stage and something happens.
And I'll tell you about that later because I did go to one recently. But in this particular instance, it's the Champion Forest Baptist Church. Fantastic. In Houston. Somehow, and I don't know where you would get this from. they thought it would be smart to bring a real-life camel to the proceedings.
Well, isn't that when, I mean, I'm Jewish, and side note, of all the things Christmas that I feel included in, like we have a tree at our house, there's a Christmas dinner at my girlfriend's parents' house, I feel very included. But the one moment I don't feel included is when I'm around nativity scenes.

Chapter 2: What happened during the Christmas nativity scene with a camel?
Really? That's when I'm acutely aware of the birth of the Lord and Savior of the Christian people. And, you know, as a Jew, I feel excluded. So nativity scenes are very foreign to me, side note. Let's get to this nativity scene. Weren't there camels running around in Bethlehem? Like, wouldn't having a camel be historically accurate?
It would be like having a Volkswagen Golf, I believe, around that time. But yeah, I mean, that was a major form of transport. The Three Kings, for example, if you remember them, they're the ones that came. I don't. Bearing gifts. Come on, gold, frankincense, and myrrh, David. Come on.
How would I know that, Tony?
It's just general knowledge. I know about Hanukkah. It's not general knowledge.
It is general knowledge. It's general Christmas knowledge. It's a holiday. I don't know much about Ramadan. If you were like, oh, these are the elements of Ramadan, I wouldn't know that. Like, why would I know this?
Well, I disagree. I would say that's quite a big thing. The Three Kings. They're kind of on posters and sort of... I mean, you may not know the names. Didn't you just say Four Kings? Three Kings.
No, three, yeah.
Where have you got the fourth one from? I don't know. I heard four. Yeah, they're Three Kings. I'm losing my mind. Anyway, they wrote...
camels going through the uh through the desert and obviously they go and see baby jesus you can't say jesus without going baby jesus but and they did that so obviously this chap decides to bring this live camel to the nativity scene and there's a video online you can see if you google camel kicks someone in nativity in houston and he's wearing a fez and he looks very nice and he's all dressed up

Chapter 3: What are the humorous moments related to Christmas nativities?
How would I know that? What do you mean, obviously?
Everybody should know that. It's like a festive period. No, they shouldn't. Why should I know that? I'm not Christian. But I think it's like on every... I think it'd be very hard to ignore. It's like on TV all the time. It's like in movies. It's like kind of like pop culture knowledge rather than religious. You're saying it from a religious point of view.
You're saying, I wouldn't know it because I'm a Jew. But it's almost like, I don't know, like it's everywhere. Unless I'm completely wrong, I would say people of every religion in the UK would kind of know roughly. I mean, you might not know the donkey's name, but perhaps you would know like the pop culture references. No, no. I mean, not really.
I know that Mother Mary was Jesus's mom. I'm not really clear on who Joseph was. Oh, wow. Yeah, I don't really know. I wasn't taught this stuff. Okay, we should do religious education with Tony. And when it was on TV, I just kind of zoned out. Ah, okay. I don't know who the president was when I was born. My first president to me of the U.S.
was Bill Clinton because that was when I was old enough to know what was going on.
Oh, wow. Mine is Ronald Reagan, weirdly enough.
Yeah.
I remember Ronald Reagan being it. But anyway, so this camel just kicked this woman. It was really funny, which is quite sad. It did kick her and it was like very sad and she got spectators to help her.
You wanted to talk about something uplifting and more serious for the Christmas season. We can go to Australia right now to the awful scene of the Bondi Beach shooting.

Chapter 4: How does the camel incident relate to the nativity story?
But in and amongst that, this wonderful shining light.
showed the most positive of character traits in this man is a shopkeeper who in and amongst this shooting which was horrific he ran to the uh to the assailant and you know basically juggled and you know tussled with this guy and got the machine gun off him um and it was absolutely incredible um he was given a 1.25 million pound which you're going to tell me how much that is in dollars
uh i think it's about 1.6 us dollars million maybe it's upwards of 2 million canadian dollars a lot of money and he completely deserved it this was like raised by like a gofundme thing and lots of people sort of gave him that money and the first thing he said was i deserve this in like a question mark because he just you know it was instinct and he just ran to it and and
I think it shows that there is still humanity left, even though sometimes I'm very affected by things like this, that it plays on my mind. And I sometimes think, what would I do in that situation? And this guy sort of ran into danger and he was shot as well. So he was recovering from hospital with an operation. But I think he's going to win.
Like, you know, you can imagine him winning something like that. time man of the year he's already up for vote for lad bible man of the year which is very different but um uni lad man of the year um but i think yeah i think he deserves it i think he's very humble and i think kind of yeah it shows like a different level of humanity have you ever done anything heroic
Not like that. Not like that.
It doesn't have to be like that.
Have you done anything where you've kind of... I've, like, helped friends in need.
Okay.
