Why does Paul Peters say purpose should come before money or approval?

Paul Peters 0:00
We were created, we just don't always know when a purpose. And typically what drives people is what can I do that's gonna make me the most money? What can I do that's gonna please my parents, rather than looking at what is it that's built within me that I love to do and then figure out how to monetize that? And so my calling is to help people find their purpose because directly related to your purpose is a sense of fulfillment. If people went into their work with a sense of passion, sense of fulfillment, it would turn their life around.

Yeah. So um I was a former gymnast and over the years, um, when I was in high school broke my leg, multiple s sprained ankles and found out recently I had been walking in a broken ankle. Oh. And so had surgery. I did not know that they you could do this, but you could at an ankle replacement. Oh so had it replaced in May. Uh recently got some bad news. It did not set well. Paul Peters 2:56
Wow. Okay. Okay. And you're a gymnast? Like what kind of gymnast? I was a gymnast. I I did all around for a while, then I settled on high bar high bar vaulting and uh floor exercise.
Rudy Mawer 3:04
Nice, that's exciting, man. It's like I I I used to do that when I was young. I was I remember walking to the gym. You get to flip around and you get to, you know, swing around, you know, like I don't know why it's not more popular.
Paul Peters 3:17
Right. Now it's interesting. I'm involved in documentary films as well. So we are actually flying out to Colorado Springs this October to film with a gymnast from the nineteen eighty four Olympic gymnastics team. So get to meet some of my idols 'cause that's that's when I went to high school during eighty. So yeah, very excited. Yeah.
Rudy Mawer 3:32
Yeah. Yeah. I feel like there's more kind of like like special specialness about it like back in the day in the in the eighties, you know? Uh maybe it was because of the Cold War and we had this whole big thing against Russia, right? And uh those those Russian gymnasts against the American gymnasts or the Chinese gymnasts, right?
