How did Rob Sarver’s Navy SEAL background shape his identity and purpose after service?
And when you live through that and you go through those experiences, like you're pushing those outer limits. And that's when those greatest lessons are learned. We all start this journey with the same why. And that's the service of the Constitution. The how and the what, that comes later. It's understanding the why and the purpose is serving the Constitution.
Lieutenant SEAL Rob Sarver is a combat decorated military veteran, strategic operational leader, and Wharton educated executive who serves as the co-CEO and co-founder of the Hero's Journey LLC. Drawing from a decorated career of resilience and elite team building, he translates battle-tested principles into high-impact corporate strategies, helping organizations transform their leadership culture to build an enduring legacy of purpose and performance.
You have to realize as a veteran, especially if you served at those levels, yeah, you earned your black belt. You were an expert. You had the superpower. But when you get out, you have to understand you're putting back on a white belt and you're starting over again. And the faster you can realize that and the faster you can find that new identity and purpose, that is such a humbling experience. Yes, sir. and willing to be in service of others. I mean, you're going and serving to your point. You're serving this piece of paper, this ideal. And that is so powerful because you're serving a transcendent cause that very few people will ever understand or do. But it's upon you at the end of that service to come back with this great honor and pride and great nobility to pass that on.
But if you find all the right people and you give that space to build trust, you're building that high trust team. What comes out of that is just amazing human capital. Go back and reflect on everything that's happened to you. Those deepest wounds.

Oh, it's a joy to serve my friend. Great, great energy, great frequencies. Your partner's here. She's filming. What is your proper title? So I feel like I messed that up.
So the military, I was lieutenant. Yes, sir. I got out, I was a troop commander, SEAL Team 3 when I got out. And now I serve humbly as the CEO of Service Group.
Wow. Yeah. SEAL, like S-E-A-L. That is huge. I've had Marines. I've had Air Force. I've had senators. But a SEAL is a completely different mindset, different level, a different galaxy. Where do we begin? How do I ask a person like you that question?
Yeah.
I mean, you just have to like cold water.
What is the Hero’s Journey framework Rob uses to explain veterans’ transitions?
Okay. Just not sleep. But no, I think, you know, as I said earlier, it is the ultimate human experience because you're adapted to every human behavior. Yeah. The fear, the doubt, the exhaustion, the ego, all the subjugation of the ego. And when you live through that and you go through those experiences, like you're pushing those outer limits. And that's when the greatest lessons are learned.
Yeah, when we talked about the hero's journey and kind of like the mythos, the real journey of the spirit of what it is, what you're really doing, it almost kind of feels like the human experience that is normal is very contrived, very boring. It's just like there is no hero's journey. You're kind of old enough and you graduate and then you get a job and then you make more of yourself and then you have a legacy and then you pass away and you become whatever you think you become.
