Chapter 1: What are the sketches discussed in this episode?

0.249 - 15.675 Derek

Andy, you didn't have anything to add. We were talking about spirited ladies. I was just going to add, have a toast on us. I just thought you know something about spirits and I don't know. I thought Beetlejuice's wife would have been pretty obvious. I am now recording.

0

15.935 - 17.436 Unknown

Hey, speaking of spirited wives.

0

17.516 - 19.856 Derek

You just left it on the floor and I kept leaving big.

0

19.896 - 22.217 Unknown

Speaking of spirited wives, we can fly this over.

0

22.237 - 23.398 Derek

Whoa, Beetlejuice is here.

24.338 - 25.698 Unknown

Hey, I got a spirited wife.

26.179 - 34.921 Keith

I laughed so hard in Beetlejuice 2 when Michael Keaton said, well, my ex-wife's back. It was like the best Beetlejuice line of all time.

35.061 - 36.901 Andy Samberg

And he's basically doing stand-up.

37.242 - 40.783 Keith

He was doing stand-up. We see that Beetlejuice is ex-wife. We don't realize it yet.

Chapter 2: What is the significance of Beetlejuice's ex-wife?

95.256 - 99.258 Keith

Guys, first of all, welcome to the Lonely Island Seth Meyers podcast. It's great to see all three of you.

0

99.579 - 100.699 Jorma Taccone

You too.

0

100.779 - 101.96 Keith

Great to be here. I got my job.

0

101.98 - 103.401 Jorma Taccone

We're back. All of us are back.

0

103.441 - 104.001 Keith

I got my job.

104.021 - 106.002 Derek

I very much enjoyed the episodes I missed.

106.083 - 110.925 Keith

You guys did a great job. Thanks, Kevrox. Speaking of the episodes you missed, a little housekeeping.

111.206 - 118.31 Jorma Taccone

Please. Here's a part of the show where Seth takes some boxes. I don't know. Is that helpful? Oh, no one asked, but it's welcome. Okay.

118.621 - 127.088 Keith

I feel like we did not give the proper shout out to the Roots, both for the Radio City concert and the work they did on the actual 50th itself.

Chapter 6: What insights do they share about the Roots?

857.429 - 859.07 Keith

No, we're going to talk about the James Franco show.

0

860.671 - 867.155 Derek

There's three shorts that we're trying to cover today. And what they all have in common is that they're totally forgettable.

0

867.596 - 867.836 Barvin

Yeah.

0

867.936 - 885.324 Derek

And what's interesting about it is that they're forgettable in a way. We've had very few this forgettable. Like we've had bad ones. But they all kind of hold a special place in my memory in different ways of the way they did or didn't work. These three actually just disappeared from my memory.

0

885.484 - 897.789 Derek

And maybe it's because we had been at the show long enough that we were starting to be in a rhythm where every short wasn't so special. Or maybe there's just some special thing about these shorts that make them absolutely forgettable.

898.797 - 911.509 Keith

I would say that James Franco, who is, for my money, a very fun SNL host, down for a lot of stuff, he is in a short called Hey. And it sort of feels like, what, OC parody? Gossip Girl?

911.81 - 914.472 Jorma Taccone

Totally is like Gossip Girl parody kind of thing.

914.552 - 919.257 Keith

And that is, I think, all we have to say about it because it's well acted and doesn't age well.

919.577 - 925.185 Andy Samberg

Yeah. Yeah. And it just I remember even at the time. I mean, I don't want to talk too much about it because it was your arms.

Chapter 7: What was the outcome of the Lego Movie reunion discussion?

2166.85 - 2174.973 Keith

I think it was unprecedented. They've done a lot. I feel like they've done a long run of shows, this new group, but I don't think they've done Thursdays in the way that we did.

0

2175.053 - 2179.674 Derek

It was a vote of confidence to be like, we want more SNL, even not on a Saturday.

0

2179.874 - 2181.615 Keith

We want, yeah, primetime 9.30 shows.

0

2182.574 - 2187.619 Derek

Yeah, on Thursday nights, which is historically that's NBC's big night.

0

2187.939 - 2190.922 Jorma Taccone

It was almost like the players were ready for prime time, you could say.

2191.223 - 2191.643 Andy Samberg

Oh, good one.

2191.823 - 2198.79 Derek

You used to have cheers. Yeah, that was a cheers. Taxi. Family ties. The Cosby Show.

2199.431 - 2199.931 Andy Samberg

Friends.

2200.692 - 2201.933 Derek

Ever heard of any of them, Andy?
