He's telling the world that international law doesn't matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality. But the guy is a convicted felon or convicted rapist. He's a pedophile.
He's the worst human being in the world. If we're relying on this guy's morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we're all in a lot of trouble. So this is for her. This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today.

Come on. We're just here for show business today. You know, it was a terrible thing that happened, and it shouldn't have happened. And if they didn't act like such thugs, it wouldn't have had to happen. But I don't need to wear a pin about it.
So Bill Maher, Mark, sorry, Rob, what is your reaction to that?
Yeah, I think Bill is exactly right. This is not an evening for anything but show business. And I think if you do try to make it about something else, it never works. You come across as shallow. You come across really as the opposite of what you're trying to do. So my advice to celebrities is if you want to get involved, if you want to get political, find the right moment to do it. That is not it.
It is a big, glamorous event. They're wearing thousands of dollars of jewels and suits and designer goods. You mentioned they're staying at five-star hotels. He had a limo drive him to that show. Just the optics of it make no sense at all. So anything that Mark was trying to do ultimately backfired and did the opposite.

Chapter 4: How did Mark Ruffalo use his platform for political statements?
The only word that Sean Penn knows is yes and potentially no. He doesn't know shades of grey in the middle. People should have gone up to him. Powerful people. He was that arrogant. He was that lazy. He was that above the rules for all of us.
He couldn't be bothered to stand up and walk and have a cigarette.
Well, you know, Rob, maybe he felt he deserved it because he is the preeminent actor of his generation. And as we saw on The Nerve last night, in one battle after another, he got a gun shoved up his ass in a sex scene. So, hey, maybe he deserved a few puffs. I don't know. OK, we're going to go now to Chloe Zhao, the director of Hamnet, which like 12 people have seen. OK.
And, you know, it's a it's it's it's a it's a movie about the death of Shakespeare's child when he was like 11. And again, Hollywood is pushing this as like, you know, one of the arthouse movies of the year. Nobody wants to see it. The actress in it won Best Actress. Chloe Zhao, a director whose work is spotty. Sorry, it is wins.
they win the award i believe for best best drama i think i don't know whatever it is but watch how chloe zhou is like exaggerate so in such an exaggeration she's stunned at this win and spielberg is the producer of this movie and watch spielberg in this clip you know wait a beat but then literally say to her hey we got to get up there it's an award show and there's a clock on it you got to get up there and accept the award that you fucking campaigned for but
You're shocked you won. Here we go.

from management etc and probably from chris jenner who as you have uh you have talked about on the nerve and i absolutely have come around to your way of thinking chris jenner is masterminding this campaign and um we now have gotten the note to be humble uh to pay our respects to our elders i mean you know george clooney's now an elder and um take it down a notch timothy here we go wow
