What is the purpose of this neuroaffirming goal‑writing masterclass?
Well, welcome to our hundredth episode. Jesse, do you have anything to say about it being our hundredth episode?
We are so excited to be with you today for our hundredth episode. We know we left this on pause for a while because there is this version of Chris, you guys may not know. It's called Summer Chris. Summer Chris has no school and his only job is to get a tan.
That's right. Um, since the last episode, I've had a hundred pumpkin spice lattes between then and now. So I'm amped up for some good stuff. We've got a great episode, and this hundredth episode I think is really gonna hit home with so many uh great ideas. Effective things you can use immediately with goals and writing and ways to track them. So yeah, I just I'm I'm positive you're gonna love this.
And today we really just want to do something special. You guys know usually our episodes are pretty short. and quick so today we are going along we are doing a master class for you in goal writing so not only giving you the quick tips but we are going full into how you can better support your kids with neuroaffirming goals and we also have had some fun stuff we've decided one this is also the first episode under our new show name of neuroaffirm So we had shared this news only with some of you, which is Chris actually trademarked the word neurofirm like that was at least a year ago.
Well, it's funny you mentioned because no one would know this unless they've trademarked um anything. But I started the process years ago and by the time the trademarking um Peeps. Peeps out there in the world go through this whole thing. It's like it's so much of a legal process too. Um, it took forever. So it was finally, yeah, a little over a year ago, I got the certificate that said congrats, um, officially trademarked, which is really cool.
Yeah. So now we've got our neuroaffirm show. We have the directory, which a lot of you guys are on, where families can find neuroaffirming providers. We have our academy where we have a community of over a thousand SLPs in there learning about neuroaffirming strategies. So we're excited to just bring that sh this show under that umbrella of everything else we're doing together.
Yeah, absolutely. So that was where the name change came from. All the all things neuroaffirming.
Yep. And it's been a little, so we've still got our five kids at home. Our fifth boy was born New Year's Eve. He is eight months now, which is Wow how that happens. And so we're really excited to be back with you guys now. And we also wanted to give you guys some bonuses just for joining us live today. So if you're here live, I know it's kind of hard with this live with this live stream how it works, but I think you need to sign in maybe to have access to the chat. But make sure you do that because we're gonna put a bunch of links and stuff in the chat for you. And that includes some of these bonuses. So just for coming today, we are giving you an awesome neuro-affirming goal writing guide. We are sharing our entire goal writing framework with you, which we're gonna break down today.
And then you're also going to get one more awesome bonus, which is a neuroaffirming goals, wait, extreme makeover goal edition. So you're gonna see some of the standard goals we might see and we're gonna tear those apart and we're gonna do an extreme makeover on them. So just for being here live, you are getting those awesome bonuses. So here's what we have coming up for you today. We're gonna talk about what neuroaffirming goals are, the scary truth about when goals are not neuroaffirming. And we know that you guys are on this next level, like you have this next level knowledge right now, right? People have been talking about this a lot. And this is something that you probably have a good amount of knowledge in.
So we're kind of just gonna go through what you need to know for the purpose of goal writing. Then we're gonna break down and we're gonna talk about how we can make our receptive language and expressive language goals more neuroaffirming and then how we can make our social language goals more neuroaffirming.
