Hello, hello. Welcome to Making the Shift. This is not one of our normal topics. This is something, though, that everyone's been asking me about. And I thought it would be fun to do a show because it's so hard to give you all the info I want to in these, you know, one minute social media clips. So I am coming to you today from our brand new office. We moved suites recently. So we actually stayed in the same office building. building, but we moved across the hall. And I've just been getting asked so much about Our move and you know, why we're moving and what our office is gonna look like. So I thought that it'd be fun to do an episode on answering all those questions for you, plus giving you a tour of the new space.
Yay. As you can see, my office is severely underdesigned right now. It's been the least m of my concerns. My biggest concern was how we could So our office is on a four-day work week Monday through Thursday. So my biggest concern was how can we close on Thursday at 6 PM and open by Monday at 7 a.m.? And that meant making sure all the therapy rooms were ready first. And I am shocked. That we did it and that it all came together so well. But my office is definitely the last. And as you'll see from our tour, my office is way different now than it used to be. And I just have so much stuff.
Why did Pediatric Therapy Playhouse decide to move to a smaller clinic space?
I need to go through, I need to get rid of. Okay, so in most people When we tell most people that we moved, their first question is, Wow. Or their first statement is, Wow, congrats, you're expanding. No. No no. We're not actually. Our current clinic is about sixty percent of the size of our old clinic. And it's just funny because everyone assumes we want to get bigger, we want more space, when in reality This is our clinic. It's called Pediatric Therapy Playhouse. If you didn't know, my clinic's called Pediatric Therapy Playhouse. We just hit our 11-year anniversary, and I feel like I know so clearly what I want this clinic to be, the size I want this clinic to be. And those are all things I think that you kind of learn along the way.
And our old clinic actually had multiple rooms in there that were not being used. And that's because our current team size is Perfect. There's a point where and I'm sure many of you have worked in clinics where there's just like huge teams and Lots going on all the time. Our clinic has five therapists and me. We have two admin staff who work remotely. But there are six of us here. And to me, this is the perfect size. And I just never I've never been one of those people who wanted to have the biggest clinic in LA. I've never been one of those people who wanted to have multiple locations. Like I don't I know everyone has their own preferences. I don't know how people do that. To me, that would be So difficult.
I just always wanted to have. An awesome team of awesome therapists who are so great and our therapy quality is high. And that is our focus. The thing is that the last Space we were in, we had our lease for Five and a half years. And now that we finished that lease, we signed a new five and a half year lease in this space. And I'm just so excited because we're at perfect capacity. We don't have any extra rooms. We have the exact number of therapists that we want and that I know work really well for this clinic and this business. So That was a huge factor, was that I didn't want to grow. And we're in Los Angeles, we're in West Los Angeles, right? We're um down the street from UCLA Westwood, we're down the street from Beverly Hills.
Offices around here. In general You're paying about a thousand dollars per month per office room. Right. So we're in this other office for so long with all of these offices just sitting there empty. Like it would make sense to pay for them. if we needed them. But what happens is they end up turning into storage, mini storage units with toys that we don't need, don't want, broken toys, and just not necessary.
