We try out so many different programs in our clinic with all of the kids that we see here. And today I'm here to share some fun trials we've been having with TD Snap, which I actually just downloaded for the first time. And I'm excited to share how we have started using this in the clinic with our Gestalt language processors.

Okay, so you guys know I talk a lot about AAC, but you also know that I do not claim to be an AAC expert. I think AAC is so overwhelming, so confusing. Every kid is different. Every kid's device is different. And to call myself an expert, like I just don't know if I would ever get to that point, just to be honest. Okay, so if you are sitting here thinking the same thing, hello, we are in the same boat together. But I did want to say that a conversation we've been having a lot in our clinic is how to better support our Get Salt Language processors using AAC. And we do have therapists who are doing amazing things with every different program that exists. Like there's not one program we're all using. It's totally child-dependent, but I will say there are lots of ways that our therapists are learning to support their gestalt language processors and have seen their kids make significant progress, okay?
How much does the TD Snap subscription cost and is it worth the price?
But I will say I saw a video posted from my friend, Alex Zakos. You guys know her from Meaningful Speech, and she posted this real – a few weeks back about how she programs TD Snap for Gestalt language processors. And I was like, that's really interesting. I want to check that out. So we ended up getting a subscription, which there was a lot of drama on the online world. I think it was last year when this program moved to a monthly subscription instead of a one-time payment. It's $10 a month. Okay. So think of it as one Starbucks a month if you are concerned about the cost. Okay. So not too bad, but people were up in arms about that. Okay. But we decided to download it on one of our iPads after I saw that video of Alex.
I was like, that's really cool. And I want to try that. And it... We've been able to figure out ways to use other programs to support our GLPs, but I was really just looking for even more ways. I feel like you just never know until you try. AAT is one of those things. I want to walk you through what we did. This was literally, I took our iPad from the clinic, one of our iPads home, and I did this in 30 minutes. This was not a big, crazy long project. But what she was recommending or one of the reasons she was saying that TD Snap is great for assault language processors is because they already have. Well, first of all, TD Snap has a lot of phrases embedded in it already, whereas most devices just have single words.
What steps did we follow to download and set up TD Snap on an iPad?
So we know that with our GLPs, we want to, you know, initially use a lot of phrases and support them in that way. So TD Snap has a ton already in there, which does make life easier and makes it a lot faster because you don't have to program every single button. Okay, but what Alex was recommending was going to the topics tab because on TD Snap on the homepage, there's a button that says topics, right? And then there's a million different topics already in there. I'll just read you some of them. About me, reading, cooking, bubbles, games, family, classroom, right? So there's lots of different topics. So what we did is we added the topic of play because I figure that in our clinic, we're that's primarily what we're doing.
Okay. So if we are using this to support kids in our clinic, we want to be not having to go in and out of a million different folders, but if we could have them just primarily in the play folder, that could work really well. Okay. So we added play under topics, which they already had one that was similar.
