I know. And we were comparing earlier. I'll ask you this question as a matter of fact. If I pulled you aside a month ago and laid out exactly how the Ravens would hire their staff with Jesse Minner, 29-year-old Declan Doyle, Anthony Weaver as the defensive coordinator, and laid out exactly how the Steelers built theirs, which would you have said is preferable to you? And then I'll tell you how limits and I and Bob voted.
I mean, I think Minter's a really good defensive coach. I don't know what he is as a head coach. I think you learn more about Weaver during the process, and there's some good traits. A 29-year-old offensive coordinator with a quarterback that's ready to win now is a gamble. It's a gamble. It's a gamble.
That's what I like, Jeff. I like the unknown here.
But I'm really starting to like the Steelers' defensive staff. Mm-hmm. I think Patrick Graham, all the things you hear about him from different coaches about how he confuses offenses and all the different things he can run and how he adapts to the talent that he has instead of just saying, we're playing this way.

And Joe Witt has been a great secondary coach. And the stuff that Charles Woodson said about how he changed his career in the NFL, like It's tight.
I guess for me, it's a bigger swing by the Ravens, but it's a riskier swing.
It's funny. I almost would have done the opposite. Like if I'm the Steelers, I'd almost rather have the Ravens coaching staff. And if I'm the Ravens ready to win now, I'd probably want the offensive head coach who's won.
How about that? Have the offensive coach with Lamar Jackson. That's an interesting way to look at it.

Yeah, that can either work out really well or it may not. It may blow up in their faces because then you have Lamar who's very well accomplished, but he hasn't accomplished the ultimate thing. And the expectations for this young kid to take him there and to give him what he needs.
What happens that first bad game or first badly scripted game? Does Lamar go, what the hell does this guy know? He's younger than me.

Whereas if it's McCarthy.
But it might be a breath of fresh air, some different kind of concept that maybe brings out the best in him, and I think that's how Doyle will be judged.
And I don't know what their senior assistant, I don't know if they have a senior assistant that helps look over there. I haven't done a deep dive into their coaching staff. Again, I like some of it. They brought in some guys from college. Pico's, I think, a really inspired ad on that D line.

I mean, a guy who's been in these rivalries, he knows what it's like. I can't imagine how much he hated the Steelers at one point in his life. But to have him, just seeing him as a player and thinking about that energy, joining those young defensive linemen except for Cam, I'm starting to feel good about this defensive staff. And I think McCurley's a good coach.
Yeah, I like what they've done, generally speaking.
