We were going to talk about the by-election, but tragically that has been overshadowed by events, particularly the murder of Anne Whittacombe. What is your reaction to that?
The two elects. The two are directly linked. I will need, I'm afraid, given the way the world is now, to have protection until the end of my days. And frankly, Anne Willingham's death is five million quite good reasons.
I think there are two questions that genuinely are worth asking. Number one is this £5 million gift, and the other question is the posh George thing. He was convicted of wire fraud in the US.

Originally, when we first booked to do this interview, we were going to talk about the by-election, your resignation, the challenges both you and Reform are facing. But tragically, that has been overshadowed by events in the previous week, particularly the murder of Anne Widdicombe. What is your reaction to that?
The two are linked. The two are directly linked. The full-scale attack on reform, which has really gone into gear since May the 7th. Why May the 7th? Massive set of elections across the UK. We wipe out the Conservatives in East Anglia. Unbelievable. We take out Labour in the north of England, the Midlands. We make breakthroughs, big breakthroughs, in Scotland and in Wales. And ever since that moment, the attacks on the party have been unrelenting. And really, what's happening, whether it's the press, whether it's Ed Davey, whether it's other frontbenchers, is, you know, we are extremists, racists, the most dangerous threat to Britain. We're more dangerous than Putin as a threat to Britain. We're all criminals.
I mean, we're all criminals. You know, Tice, Post George, me, we should all be in prison. And this is the narrative that has been going out unendingly And I've been in this game a long time. You know, I'm used to the rough and tumble of political debate. And that's fine. Actually, to some extent, that's what democracy is. You know, we have a pop at each other and let Joe Public make up their minds who they believe. But when it comes to stuff being published in mainstream national newspapers, that's just not true. Just simply not true or exaggerated beyond belief. What are you talking about that's not true, Nigel? One little example is Posh George paid for all the computers in the reform office and did not.
That was not declared in our donations. Well, the answer is he didn't. So you tell the Sunday Times again and again and again, he didn't. They publish it. And then the Times Daily editorial writes in its editorial. These are the serious questions.
