Chapter 1: What mistake did Ash Chua make with Scott Pendlebury 14 years ago?
Shut up. The footy's on Triple M. Triple M footy starts your weekend early. Now there's a bit more noise. With every massive moment. This is on, this is huge. This. We're in the presence of greatness.
Is the Thursday rub. You can refer to me as the queen.
Footy's better at the pub and the pub's better with the Pub Plus app. Download Pub Plus and get more from your local. For Ream Hot Water and McDonald's, Triple M rocks footy.
Thursday night footy from Marble Stadium. The roof is open at the moment. The Western Bulldogs taking on Sydney. The Dogs have got a lot of injury concerns. And we're going to speak to Simon Good with the Sydney assistant. So much to talk about tonight. Queen's queries. We've got some very special guests on here tonight. But first of all, I'm going to get around this box.
I'm going to welcome the Queen of Triple M football, Kate McCarthy. How are you, Kate?
I think that's the first time you've called me that, Nate. Thank you. Well, it's nice to be here. It's a Thursday night thing, yeah. Yeah, it is. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's good to be here.

Chapter 2: What insights does Simon Goodwin share about coaching in the AFL?
And Jay-Z. Would you like me to call it more often? Oh, I don't really mind. You do what you want to do. That's all good. Anything is fine. Jay-Z, you look a bit nervous. What do you mean?
Are you all right? I'm good. Yeah, I'm good. Sure? Because you're talking about the press conference today or the greatness that we're surrounded by? The presence. Well, we've got an all-star cast. We all know. Well, I might as well introduce that. That's the voice of Jake Clark, the Herald Sun's number one. Thank you, Nathan.
I tell you what, I'm intrigued by tonight's game and how the Bulldogs can stop that counterattack, that blitzkrieg run from the Swans and blitzkrieg. Oh, yes, I like that. That's good, isn't it? The blockbuster run from Nick Blakey off halfback and co, et cetera. With their big outs, it's going to be a fascinating tactical battle. Well, Kate mentioned it. You are excited.
So the man in the back of the box tonight is going to do all the special comments, and I reckon they're going to be very special. He is just about to break the game's record in the AFL. He is Scott Pendlebury from the Collingwood Football Club. Superstar.
Chapter 3: How did Carlton handle the Elijah Hollands situation?
Welcome to the Thursday rub. Thanks, mate. Thanks for having me. Looking forward to it. Yeah. Does the roof stay open? I don't know these answers.
I don't play here very often. So this is Marvel, not the MCG, and the roof sometimes is open and sometimes it's closed.
I had the Waze app open on the way to get here, so we don't come here very often. Now, sometimes when you bat for Australia, you get the baggy green. When you go into a footy club, you get your jumper presented to you by a superstar of the football club. When you come to Triple M... you get presented with a Nasi Goreng. You do.
So when you come to Marvel Stadium, here's your first Nasi Goreng, mate. Thank you. Just don't throw it on anybody. Beautiful. As Steve Quartermine found out.
Yes, I've heard about that.
It is the most regimented nutritional plan on the face of the planet. Would you eat that? I haven't had a nasi goreng, did you say, in a long, long time. How many years? Look, I probably wouldn't eat it two days before a game. It's spicy, isn't it? It's got a bit of chilli in it.
How bad would we feel if it was Saturday morning?
Yeah, laid out.

Chapter 4: What changes have occurred in the AFL since Scott Pendlebury's debut?
I don't do well with chilli.
In brackets, nasi. I thought this is a healthy thing to me.
This is a carbo. I thought this is the natural carbo. I'm not sure what you're carbo-loading for, though. You don't have a game in two days, Joe. Or maybe you do. He's just always guard-loading. He's always loading, just in case. You've played so many great games over the course of your career, and there's highlights and there's lowlights.
There's more highlights than lowlights, obviously, because you've played over 400. But I'm going to take you back to Round 17, 2012. And you mightn't remember the game, but it was Hawthorne defeated Collingwood, 21-12, 138 to Collingwood, 13-13, 91. Yeah. and you were in the room, so you're on the losing end, and you got interviewed by our stats man, Ash Stewart. Do you recall what happened?
I don't remember the interview, but I've heard it a lot of times on Triple M. Well, the man sitting next to you is Ash Stewart. Ash, how are you? Speaking of nervous, Jay-Z, I'm very nervous about to reacquaint myself with this gentleman in the room.
Good to see you, mate.
Good to see you. And can I honestly say I owe you an engraved apology from 14 years ago. I deeply apologise. Scott, I mean Scott. Sorry about that. Let's go back that 14 years and listen to the audio of Ashtua.
Got to go down to the Collingwood Ruins. We're a bit light on for staff at the moment, given the Olympics have started and a few people are gone. So one man, and one man only, has to step up to the plate.

Chapter 5: Who are the top players Scott Pendlebury has played with?
And that man is Ash the Chew Man, who's now dominating on the Supercoach Show. We've given him open slather to get whoever he wants, but if he doesn't find the big, big names, he probably won't get another chance. So I go down with some degree of trepidation. Chewer, over to you.
Thanks, Gary. I've got one of their prime movers. Actually, I've got Scott Pendlebury in the rooms with me. Scott, congratulations firstly on your game today with 34 touches. Scott Pendlebury. And a prime mover. Have you ever been described as a prime mover before or since then? No, I've never been described as a prime mover or Scott. After you lose, you don't want to be in that situation.
I don't want to talk to media anyway. If they're going to cop that, they're not overly happy. I tried to take some layers off the paint by saying he's a prime mover and pumped up his disposals at 34 as well. 34? But what a professional, though. He didn't pick up on Scott or pull me up. No, we did. Of course, Gary and Spud. It was a long intro from Gary, a long intro.
So we're going to give you another chance to rewrite your wrongs. And I'm going to be Gary. We don't have the monobrow to put on me. But I'm going to be Gary, and I'm going to throw down to you, Ash. You've got the roving mic, so here we go. We're going down to the Collingwood rooms. We're a bit light on for staff, given the Olympics are starting. A few people have gone.
Chapter 6: What are the latest updates on the Western Bulldogs' Premiership Reunion?
We have... giving him open slather to get whoever he wants, but if it doesn't find the big names, he might not get another chance. So I go down with some degree of trepidation. Chua, over to you. Thanks, Gary. I've got one of Collingwood's elite players in Scott Pendlebury. Congratulations with your game, Scott, with your 34 disposals. You didn't go with prime mover. Must have been nervous.
Monkey off your back. We've still got four quarters of footy to come tonight, Brownie, so we'll see how we go. Have you got a Scott Penderbury stat for us? Have you come prepared with a stat tonight that would just wow us? Well, Saturday, it will be his 19th Anzac Day game, which will be the all-time record for most number of Anzac Day clashes played of any player. That's not your best.
Overtaken by Scott Fletcher. I can't think quickly on the spot. A man who's going to break the record for the games of all time probably got the record in Anzac Day as well, hasn't he? Look, there's that many stats. You've got about 1,000 with Scott Penfrey, that's for sure. So, yeah, we'll work on it. A bit nervous, aren't you? I am.
Well, I'm still, as I said, this apology that I owe him from 14 years ago. He's been stewing on this for 14 years. Exactly. You've done well, mate. You've done well. And I've got to live with this for the rest of my life, which isn't such a bad thing. But the Kangas are going well at the moment.
Chapter 7: How does Scott Pendlebury assess the current state of the Collingwood team?
The Kangas are going very well. Now, did you say if they play finals this year, you'll get a sleeve tattoo? I believe I said 11 wins or thereabouts. I'll contemplate on getting a sleeve. And have you told Mrs Chu this sleeve tattoo theory? I have. I said, look, if we hit about eight wins, then we'll start looking at some artwork. And I'll have to get your advice, Brownie.
You'll have to take me to one of those shops to... Well, if I can impart any advice from my mother onto you, Chu man, is just be careful when you get tattoos because you might not make it in the media then.
Well, on that note, I think I'll turn the ship around and we'll consider a premiership. No worries at all. Thanks, Brownie. Can you get a tattoo of a spa? Is that what you'd request?
There's a number of designs I'll be looking at come our eighth win, and definitely the spa could come into the equation.
I've told this story a couple of times this week, Friday and last Sunday, but I'll tell it to Pendles because he wouldn't have heard it. We went to a pub waiting for our flight out of Adelaide and there was a lady getting a tattoo in the pub. So there was a tattooist giving it. And this lady went up and said, I want a tattoo of Jamie Elliott.
So the tattoo went from her elbow all the way up to her shoulder. Massive Jamie Elliott in his full playing kit. And she came over and showed us. It looked nothing like Jamie Elliott. It looked more like Lockie Sullivan. What do you expect getting a tattoo in a pub? Not the greatest spot. You did rock up with a bag of goodies, though. Normally we have guests on.
We don't normally get presented with gifts. What have you got in that big bag?

Chapter 8: What are the implications of the recent Carlton investigation?
I brought a little bag in from Leaf. It's like an organic grocer there. We've got a brownie for brownie. Jay-Z, I'm not sure why you copped the macadamias from Byron Bay, but you're now from Byron Bay. I'll look you up. What did we get? We got the Queensland mandarins as well. So we've been all looked after. And there's some more chocolate and stuff for you guys later on as the game progresses.
It just brings me food, Brownie. This is what I had. This is part of my problem. You told me you were carb loading. This is part of your problem, isn't it?
One of them.
Oh, lunch a lot, Clark. So we need to ask, what happened to the podcast? I mean, we're in the same box here. You did the podcast for a long time. You came in, you talked about Pendles on and on and on and on. What happened to the podcast? Well, COVID, really. Hurt us, didn't it? Yeah. Well, before our time. We did it for six years.
We had a great time, but I think we sort of did annoy each other. I probably hounded him for long enough, Brown. That's when podcasts took over, COVID. Yeah, no, well, before COVID, and then I was away, and we couldn't be in the same area. We did it in the grand final year. That was excellent. We sat number one for a long period of time, and you've got to give others a bit of shine as well.
Couldn't sit number one for that. We were there for weeks on end. We basically conquered that mountain looking for another challenge. Fair enough. Another big Anzac Day this Saturday coming up. You don't often play the Anzac Day on Saturday. So take you back when you played your first game to where you are now. Do you still love footy as much? Yeah, absolutely. Especially Anzac Day.
It's definitely, I liken it to like a prelim final where it's just that, you know, there's going to be 90,000 people there. It's true footy supporters. The atmosphere in bars is still unbelievable. You know, the hair stand up on the back of your neck, that sort of stuff. And yeah, they're just, I don't know, for some reason they've always been relatively close games as well.
So you just know you're going to get a fierce contest. And yeah, the crowd is, you know, it is unbelievable to play in front of. been a player that stood up in big games. I mean, when it's synonymous with Collingwood, Scott Pendleby plays well. When the chips are down, he gets the job done.
When you watch Nick Nacos last week in that final quarter, I think I haven't seen too many better quarters played from an AFL player in my time. He just took the game by the scruff of the neck. Do you sit back and just go, wow, he could be one of the greatest of all time? Yeah, especially last week. I thought in that first 10 minutes of the last quarter, he just took over the game.
