He's over! This is... What a try! The Panthers Clubcast. The Panthers are back flying after a huge win in Newcastle on Sunday. Origin selectors are facing a tough call between Edwards and Tedesco. Hear from Milky Jenkins after the win and let's start with Isa Yeo as the skipper breaks down their big win.
Yeah, I've got the star of the Penrith Pants, Isaiah Yeo. How are you, Isaiah? Yeah, good, thank you. That was a really good win. I thought the way they started, we obviously got a few errors out of them early and just thought we were really patient down in their end. They defended well, but we weren't sort of pushing anything. And then obviously, yeah, we managed to take a couple of tries there. The one with Dylan sort of striking down the side on there was nice. We had little patches where we sort of dropped intensity, I thought, but for the most part, I thought, yeah, really pleasing performance down here. Could sort of turn into a bit of a shootout.
What were the highlights of the Panthers' win over Newcastle?
They got strike all across the field. But, yeah, I thought the way we sort of controlled the game, it was really nice.
And how has everyone been in the last 20 minutes? Obviously, you came from Darwin last week. Really tough conditions.
How does Isaah Yeo view Dylan Edwards' chances for Origin?
How did the boys pull up?
Yeah, I'm glad it wasn't a real close golden point sort of game. But, no, I felt like we handled it all right. It was obviously a longer turnaround. It would have been harder for the Dolphins there. They were at Darwin over the Wellington last night. Probably would have gassed them a little bit, I think. And they've got a six-day turnaround, I'm pretty sure, as well. But, no, no, I thought we handled it really well. Just the way we sort of... attacked our training. Yeah, I thought we were pretty smart about it. And what's going on with Milky Jenkins, mate? No tries. What is he doing? Actually, the streak's done, isn't it? I didn't even think about that. He was half a chance, too, I thought at one point, but the streak's done.
He can stop loving himself now. And your fullback, Dylan Edwards, hat trick. Would you love to see him get that Origin jersey again this year? Yeah, obviously very biased, but yeah, I think if you ask anyone who'd play alongside him, there's no one they'd trust more, so... I thought he was outstanding. It's obviously gone tit for tat, him and Tedesco at the moment, both in outstanding form. But, yeah, I thought the way, particularly that start of that first half, it was a quick hat-trick. And I just thought he set up the game really nicely for us. Go and enjoy the win, Isaiah. Appreciate you joining us. Thanks, Isaiah.
Tom Jenkins joins Triple M after his try-scoring drought finally ends. Tom Jenkins with you, Charlie White. You'll be by yourself. Yeah, I've got Tommy Jenkins.
Tommy Jenkins, what's doing, mate? No tries. No, no, no tries today, but we'll talk about it during the week, saying there'll probably be a bit of luck for the right side. About time by this year, I reckon, so I can know I'm real today, especially our middles and even Dill. Dill was flying. You played here, obviously, in 2024. Is it nice to go up against your opposition? Yeah. Yeah, it is always good. It's such a good stadium to play at. The atmosphere is always really good. There's a bit of banter in the crowd and stuff, so I like it. It's good, but it is always good to come up against mates and that. We've got Jimmy Graham upstairs in the commentary box, and he's a fellow ginger.
He was very worried about you standing in the sun for that second half of that long period. Did you have sunscreen on?
Yes, I did actually. I put a few layers on pre-game, and I was trying to stick around that little shady area. So that was working, hopefully. I don't know. We'll see. You look good. But, mate, in all honesty, how special is it playing this group? You know, you guys are going to be competing for a title again.
How special is it to be a part of this Penrith Panthers club?
Yeah, it's so cool. At the moment, we're just sort of focusing on week to week, and it's just really working.
