Unashamed with the Robertson Family

Ep 1229 | Jase Suffers a Brutal Concussion That Leaves Him Reeling for Days

15 Dec 2025

Transcription

Chapter 1: What happened to Jase that led to his concussion?

0.031 - 24.543 Si Robertson

So no matter how you slice it, we're definitely in a divided time in our country. There's no way around it. We see it every single day and watch the news. And so I think in this time of division, we have to have consistency, the speaking into the values that we believe in. One of our good friends, Tony Perkins, heads up an organization called Family Research Council. He's a Louisiana guy.

0

24.563 - 28.3 Si Robertson

He's a pastor. He has our heart. for Jesus.

0

Chapter 2: What unexpected events occurred during Jase's day?

28.641 - 53.14 Si Robertson

He even did a blurb in Dad's book, A Theft of America's Soul. And it's just been there for us as a family, but also as a nation. So FRC is standing for what's right. They defend faith. They protect families. They remind leaders that biblical truth still matters. So when others compromise, our friends at FRC stand firm, because if we lose our foundation, we lose the soul of our nation.

61.72 - 62.261 Si Robertson

Check them out.

0

67.713 - 71.061 Phil Robertson

I am unashamed. What about you?

0

72.492 - 84.082 Si Robertson

Welcome back to Unashamed. We just had a whole podcast. Before the podcast. But there was nothing worthy of being on the podcast, I don't think. Was it?

0

85.283 - 88.806 Phil Robertson

I'm not sure. There's a lot worthy of it.

0

89.106 - 90.648 Jase Robertson

The question is, can we put it out there?

Chapter 4: What does being a scapegoat symbolize in this context?

90.688 - 101.537 Si Robertson

Well, it started with me looking at Zach's hat. It's like it's a foreign language. And then Maddie noticed it's upside down. The printing is upside down on your hat, Zach. I don't know if you know that or not.

0

101.517 - 119.138 Phil Robertson

well and then he said he got it out of a bin that was free and it's kind of like the reason i don't pull over on the side of the road and get a free couch you see a chair there i didn't say that i said what i said was i said it was in the chair next to me and i needed a hat so i just picked it up and put it

0

119.118 - 131.842 Si Robertson

Well, you had a look about you today that I thought looked good. You kind of got a little shacket going. But then I looked at your hat, and then I was like, I can't read it. It's like another language. And then it says, do what?

Chapter 5: How does Jesus's role as a gardener connect to biblical themes?

131.942 - 133.104 Si Robertson

Backwards and upside down.

0

134.146 - 134.407 Phil Robertson

Yeah.

0

134.427 - 139.657 Si Robertson

I don't know. Is it upside down? It's upside down and backwards from our angle, I guess.

0

139.677 - 151.487 Phil Robertson

I think it fits you perfectly. I don't know what it is. I've never seen a product, because after I thought it was some Hebrew word that he was going to tell us what it actually meant.

0

151.822 - 156.947 Unknown

And the back says Raised Rowdy, whatever that means. Raised Rowdy.

Chapter 6: What powerful war stories illustrate an indestructible life?

157.788 - 160.03 Phil Robertson

This shows you that free merchandise.

0

161.151 - 173.242 Zach Dasher

I don't know. Somebody just got a good mention. They pulled it off. So if you have a business called Raised Rowdy, the people at Raised Rowdy are fist pumping right now. You got a shameless plug.

0

173.602 - 178.487 Phil Robertson

I've had a lot of things happen in the last week or so that have been –

0

Chapter 7: How does Mary Magdalene's experience at the tomb reflect on faith?

178.467 - 198.024 Phil Robertson

like the first it just seems like we haven't filmed in a week yes yeah they're straight well i went to kansas and went hunting did you notice in the notes i put jace jace's trip to the land of the red leggers al i hate to tell you this i did not read the next today, nor do I have any notes. I'm not surprised.

0

198.044 - 228.994 Phil Robertson

But I went to Kansas and about an hour into the hunt, my buddy, my good buddy Barrett was standing up in his corner of the blind. And for some reason, I think we had a downed duck that I was hurriedly trying to go after. And he had, in the construction of his blind, he had a metal rod sticking out right about head high. If you bent over and tried to get out real quick, that thing hit me.

0

230.56 - 242.338 Phil Robertson

And I lost all mode of being for 15 seconds. And here's what's fascinating. Why is that funny? Because we're filming this for Duck Commander.

0

Chapter 8: What does Jesus's resurrection signify for believers today?

242.779 - 270.672 Phil Robertson

There was a cameraman, unbeknownst to me, right on my heels. He was gonna film this. So I hit this metal rod, knocked myself out for 10 seconds. And this is on camera. No, he was just, he wasn't filming. He was getting ready to get, well, he was just falling. He was chasing me and I'm not used to cameraman chasing me like that. Well, after I hit it, He hit it. It was a double dope option.

0

271.996 - 299.314 Phil Robertson

And we're both frolicking on the floor and Barrett said, yep, I should have been sitting down because everyone who's ever tried to do this has hit that rock. and someone said, you know, we might need a saw if this keeps happening. Is he doing it for amusement now? So I thought, okay, I'm okay, okay. But I looked at the cameraman, and, you know, he was dressed like a cameraman. I had two hats on.

0

299.414 - 321.435 Phil Robertson

I had a little cushion, so I didn't think there was any blood, which there was. But he just had like a flat billed hat on and blood is coming down his face. Oh no. And his looked way worse even though it was more. Facial lacerations. Well, it was right on his forehead. It just cut him right in the top of his head all the way to the back of his head.

0

321.415 - 341.635 Phil Robertson

and just like a goose egg popped up on his head. Oh, it was bad, and tears were streaming down his eyes, and I couldn't make fun of him because tears were streaming down my eyes. Was this the new guy, the little intern, the young guy? No, they hired these two guys out. They met us. I think he was from Virginia. Okay. But look, we had a great... He'll never be back.

0

341.655 - 360.585 Phil Robertson

We had a great... No, I think he'll be back because we had a great Bible study as the two days developed. Well, of course. When the guy almost dies, you know, you got him right there where you want him. So I didn't have a good... We had a great hunt, got some spectacular footage. I'm sure you'll see that somewhere on the internet at a future date. But...

360.565 - 378.996 Phil Robertson

I did not shoot well because I was perfectly fine until that happened. And I think I had a concussion. Because for three days it was searing pain. I felt nauseated. And when I looked at it in the mirror, because I didn't take my hat off for three days, which I know that sounds crazy, but we're out of cold.

378.976 - 402.261 Phil Robertson

Well, you just, yes, in Kansas, you just go, I slept on the couch because everybody that was in our party snores so bad. It's the only place I thought I could sleep. But when I got home and took a shower for the first time in three days, I know that's yucky. I looked up there and thought, I have a wound on my head. And it just looked like a brick. It's just crusted now. Yeah.

402.982 - 408.108 Phil Robertson

So I'll have to tell about it. But then, so yesterday, or let's see, day before yesterday.

408.128 - 410.45 Si Robertson

I heard a lot about the hunt, but I never heard this part.
