Miesha Tate, also lovingly known as “Cupcake,” is not your conventional MMA fighter. Starting her fighting career at just 19, Miesha quickly realized her passion for the sport and its capability to redefine societal norms. Despite the constant underestimation and misunderstanding that she faced, she emboldened herself to challenge these stigmas, paving a path for women in a predominantly male-oriented sport. As a testament to her fight against these norms, she became a UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion in 2016, among other titles.After retiring in 2016, Miesha spent five years rekindling her competitive spirit and building a family with her fiancé, Johnny Nuñez.
