Download and listen to the audio. Guys. So, yeah, today I kind of chose this topic because I was meeting with some pastors over the weekend in Florida. And I started to see that the common question for a lot of these pastors, there's a guy that I'm not going to say which one, but he was not in our he's not in our network. But he was a pastor who is kind of like very dear to us. And bro was like. struggling with certain sins that he has not given up. I don't think it was a lustful thing. I think for him, though, it was more of like... He doesn't lust. It's not like not lust, but it is also like not not lust, if that makes sense, right? So he doesn't watch porn or do any of those things. But in his mind, he kind of thinks about more like, what if the grass was greener on the other side?
But not in a way where he wants to leave his wife, Pastora. It's more of like, did I marry the right person? Like, because church told me to, or was it really because I wanted to be with that person?
That's a scary thought.
That's a tough question. I'll see him. Like, he'll kind of, like, have that energy of, like, well, what if I was with this girl versus, like, my girl? It's like this thing. Yeah. How long have they been married for? How old is this guy? 20-some years. Dang.
And he's had this the whole 20 years or recently?
No, he's recently. So he's just been like, yo, I don't know what it is. And he kept it vulnerable with me, which was really good, which I thought was crazy. But that made me think about like, man, there are people who are saved. And they're still like struggling with thoughts like this. Right. And it's like I honestly not that I was stumped, but I kind of sat there and I was like, man, let me try to read pastor's heart because it wasn't like it's weird when when. OK, it's easy when you can guide somebody who's not a pastor. Because you're a pastor, you guide somebody who's not a pastor. When it's like a pastor guiding another pastor, it gets tricky, right? Because you're just like, they know what they know.
You also know what you know. And then it's kind of difficult to like find that middle ground. But anyways, it was what incited kind of what this episode was about. There's a lot of people, not just like that pastor, which I appreciate that pastor for being vulnerable. But there are a lot of people who struggle with sins. And think that the struggle like him and the failure is what sin is. He kind of had this energy of like, I can't struggle and I shouldn't be thinking like this. That's what the sin is. Versus actually going out and sinning. So I wanted to kind of peel those layers back. But personally, it made me think also about when I was sinning. Number one, I thought a lot of these pastors were so much better than I was because although they may not have biblical salvation, and this is not no disrespect to them, we hashed that out, and he realized that he had a little bit of wrong thinking when it came to salvation.
But prior to that, I was like, dude... these guys are so much better than me because they don't even act on it. When I first got saved, I acted on everything. Bro, I remember like telling this pastor and he looked at me and he was just like, bro, I don't have any problems compared to you. So I told him basically that I was like, you know, pastor, I was literally smoking a doobie. Like I was smoking a blunt and I was saved at this time.
