Hey, what's going on? My name is Tyson from Previsible.io. And joining me today, I have Sophia Tyson, who is the senior content manager at Duro. Juro's a startup committed to revolutionizing contract management by providing an all in one platform for businesses to create, approve, and manage contracts efficiently. Today, Sophia and I are going to be discussing building a robust SE. content plan for a SaaS business. And with that, here's my conversation with Sophia Tyson, Senior Content Manager at Juro. Sophia, welcome to the podcast.
Thanks. I'm so so excited to be on Air and B chatting today.
We we finally did it. We finally brought on uh a second Tyson. So this is a first for me. So welcome and thanks for for jumping on. But today we wanna we wanna talk content plan and specifically we're talking we're kind of calling out in a SaaS business. So maybe for the listeners, if you could kind of start us with a little context setting of like what are the considerations or what are some of the additional challenges that might be faced with like a SaaS business.
Yeah, so I think the biggest difference between SAS and other businesses um in terms of like the content strategy and the SEO, the kind of things you need to think about is that SAS is often bought for a long a long term period. It's not something you kind of consume once and then it's gone. Um, like some more like fast moving consumer goods and things like that. SAS is something that you kind of invest in. Um, with the intention to keep using that software for a long time. And I think that actually shapes the buyer journey quite a lot. I think, for example, one thing that you often find with SaaS businesses and their content and SEO strategy is that they need to address more touch points throughout the buyer journey and they need to go a little bit deeper than perhaps some especially like consumer goods companies would need to go.
With SEO, they need to go a little bit deeper and kind of address pain points at every single stage and create more granular content to kind of make sure they're convincing people to make that long-term investment that they don't necessarily have to make with other kinds of products and businesses. So I think that's one of the most unique areas that would make the strategy a little bit more complex when it comes to SAS SEO.
How should you map multiple buyer‑journey touchpoints for SaaS content?
I think the second one is kind of exactly what you're trying to sell. Software can, for some people, um and especially in some industries be quite boring. Traditionally, um, probably in mo one of the most boring kinds, legal software. Um, so you kind of need to get a little bit more creative with the content strategy that you're making and try and engage people in a different way, especially because again, there's so much education that needs to happen when you're investing in a software platform. It's everything from like how difficult is it to use it to what can I connect it with in terms of integrations and how much does it cost? How much is it going to cost over the long term? Because again SaaS companies can have more complex pricing strategies as well, like user-based pricing versus all-in pricing or like fixed rate.
So there's a lot of different considerations that you kind of need to address within your content and still keep it exciting. Because the most important thing to remember with SEO is that you don't just want people to land on that content, you need them to read it.
