Tasman has a focus on SEO strategies, as well as empowering individuals and businesses to succeed and grow their personal selves online. And today, Tasman and I are going to discuss how to thrive through imposter syndrome. Okay, here's my conversation with Tasman Solomon, the founder of Tasman Solomon Coaching and the SEO Mindset Podcast. Tasman, welcome to the Voice Search Podcast.
Thank you very much. A pleasure to be here.
So we've recorded before. I'm very grateful and honored to have been on the SEO Mindset Podcast. So thank you for that opportunity. You know, I believe that what you and Sarah are doing is immensely valuable to not only the SEO community, but honestly, the online, the technology community at large, which is really focused on how we can better ourselves and develop our personal selves in this new ecosystem of work. not only the complexities of remote work, but also just the nature of what we do in the SEO industry. Today, we're obviously going to talk about imposter syndrome and what that is. I'd love for you to maybe first introduce yourself to our listeners. Tell us a little bit more about your coaching background and how that connects to the SEO world and what your connection is to the SEO world.
So ever since I left formal education, my career has been in tech. in some form or the other. And the last role that I had was within SEO. That was around lockdown, as you know, lots of organization restructured.
How did Tasman Solomon’s career path lead her to focus on coaching and imposter syndrome?
And part of my journey was, my role was sent offshore. But preceding that for about 10, 15 years, I had become more familiar with the world of personal development. So I think I wasn't until until I was about 40 that I understood, oh, now there's this thing called a goal and you can strive towards it. I didn't know all of those things. But once I did, I fell in love with personal development because of what it did for me and my career and my confidence. So I always found ways of connecting with the person development arena in corporations that I worked with. So when I was made redundant, I thought, why not actually make that my full-time job? I hadn't sat and done like an Ikigai diagram, but actually, retrospectively, that's what I ended up doing.
I ended up finding my perfect role, if you like. And where better to start that coaching journey that I wanted to start than the SEO world that I was already part of? Because as you know, things like imposter syndrome, which is what we're going to discuss, is a big challenge and it gives me a lot of fulfillment. So I suppose that's in summary of where I was and why I'm doing what I'm doing.
I love that. And it reminds me, and I hope our listeners, especially folks who are early in their careers, take stock of where we are today in the SEO world. We're at a place now where we have individuals like yourself, Tasman, who can give back to this community in helping ourselves be better versions of ourselves. SEOs, coworkers, parents, friends, because the reality is your self-being and the quality of your self-being goes beyond just what you do from nine to five sitting at your desk. And so I think that that's something that is so powerful and is something that our SEO industry needs desperately to help all of our specialists to
