Uh next one. Crystal ball. Tell me how you think AI search will impact personal finance vertical in the next eighteen months.

What is the core prediction for AI search’s impact on personal finance apps?

Zak Ali 0:53
So I think for the really big guys, um, because of AI, uh, I think we're going to see product parity across the board. I think every finance is app is going to do everything. So it's going to become a war of who offers the stronger incentives and who has the better brand preference. And then based on where people are flocking to and what people are recommending online, that's going to influence where they show up in AI search. For the small and medium, size publishers, I think we're gonna see greater specialization. And I think they're going to stop trying to do every like finance niche and they're gonna really consolidate down to one or two and try and do those um as best they can and really own that corner of the world um in personal finance.

How will product parity among major finance apps change competition?

Tyson Stockton 1:35
And with the kind of caveat of being eighteen months, do you feel it's gonna be more of an amplification of what we're seeing today? Or are we kind of just like, yeah, the next chapter is gonna come, you know, within that time frame?
Zak Ali 1:53
I think the next chapter will come within that time frame. So between Um when Google first announced AIOs and when they rolled it out everywhere in the US, I think it was May to May or March to March. Um so it was exactly one year. And now we're already seeing at the bottom of AIO overviews there's a button that's like dive deeper in AI mode. And I think, you know, I I would imagine it's gonna be around twelve to eighteen months before that becomes the default search experience. They just need to crack how to monetize it with ads. And when that

Why will smaller publishers need to specialize in niche finance topics?

Zak Ali 2:23
happens. I think if you're not prepared and you haven't made the shift yet, uh it could be a really dark day for you, darker than than the last few years have been for sure.

Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in. Previsible draws from a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities.

When is AI‑driven search expected to become the default experience?

Unknown 3:09

Which the point on paid, I think, is a really critical one because it's like that is, you know, one of those limiting factors if you think of Google as the business.
