Why does Shaun argue that traditional search is the foundation for LLMs?
Would you choose to invest more resources in optimizing for traditional search or non-search channels to show up in AI results?
Traditional search channels. Absolutely.
Ooh, interesting. Okay. Yeah. Tell tell me more. Tell me more. I'm kinda interested by that one. Especially since we talked a lot about tradition or non non search channels today.
How does the “ingredients” analogy illustrate the need for high‑quality search results?
Yep, they fuel LLMs. So it's so so to me it's more it's more uh order of operations. Got it. Like it's it's not um it's more engineering brain, like or wannabe engineering brain, let's be real here. Like to me, I love LLMs, don't get me wrong, but I think that if they're pulling from search results, I want my search results to be as good. Uh what did uh what did Anthony Bourdain say? He's like you could be a really good cook, but if you have shitty ingredients, you're gonna be a shitty cook. That's fair. Uh so I think you need really, really good ingredients. And I don't think a lot of people have 'em.
What risks arise when marketers focus on visibility without strong search content?
I think they're trying to optimize for visibility without focusing on their ingredients. And I think that you gotta really optimize for d traditional.
