Hello SEOs and marketers. My name is Jordan Cooney from Previsible. Joining me today is Kyle Roof, who is the co-founder of Page Optimizer Pro, a cutting-edge tool that enhances content performance and boosts search engine rankings. Today, Kyle and I are going to discuss SEO in the age of AI. Okay, here's my conversation with Kyle Roof, the co founder of Page Optimizer Pro. Kyle, welcome back to the Voice of the Search Podcast.
Kyle Roof 1:11
Happy to be here. I I'm happy to be a regular guest.
Jordan Cooney 1:14
Yeah, it's starting to look that way, right? I think this is your third time you mentioned on the show. I think this is the first time we're interviewing each other, if I'm not mistaken, is that right? That's correct. That's correct. Very cool. Well, before we jump in, just so that our listeners get a little context, tell us a little bit about yourself, tell us a little bit about Page Optimizer and Pro, and then we'll dive into the the topic of uh today's conversation.
Kyle Roof 1:35
Yeah, I've been doing SEO full time for over a decade now. Co-founded an an agency, a multinational, multilanguage agency with offices in Phoenix, Berlin, Melbourne, and now Kingston, Jamaica. Uh spinning off of that agency was the uh the Tool Page Optimizer Pro, which is based off of an algorithm that I developed. And uh essentially what it does is it helps you write pages that Google will like better than your competitors. Uh essentially. essentially uh where you need to put terms, uh how many times and and and specifically where you need to put them on the page, in addition to some other things that search engines like, such as schema and and natural language processing and stuff like that.
Jordan Cooney 2:13
Awesome. Well that's great. And I think uh it'll be really interesting to see how we interweave both how your product and uh services connect with the topic of today, which is really where AI and SEO are going, right? Which to some extent I'm sure you know you all are thinking about quite heavily and integrating into how you both support and develop product for SEOs. So let's just Start off and in and get the million dollar question out of the way here. What's going to happen to SEOs now that AI is formally an integral part of how we're doing our work today? Is SEO and the SEO role here to stay? How is it going to change? I know that this is a quite substantial question that I'm just lobbying over to you, but I think generally speaking, when we have these conversations,
Jordan Cooney 3:07
And then go into how it how it may impact or rationally develop the way we we are as an organization or as an industry of
Kyle Roof 3:16
SEOs. Well, every six months of my career, SEO has died. And uh it has somehow managed to not only survive each of those deaths, but has flourished and continued to grow. And I don't really see this being any different from any other of the previous deaths of SEO. In particular, when AI really made a splash uh in Q1 of 2023, that was really supposed to be the death knell of it. And yet here we are, filming in September of 2024, and uh it still seems to be going strong. So AI is not the end of SEO by any means. You know, there's still an algorithm that uh search engines are using, and as long as there is an algorithm, there will be Optimization of that algorithm. The only time we're in trouble is when if if ever gets the point that humans are curating results.
Kyle Roof 4:09
But uh but after that, as long as it's a computer that's doing math, there will always be optimization.
