Today, Joe and I are going to be talking about leveraging YouTube to gain audience traction. And with that, here's my conversation with Joe Giuliana Turnbull, founder and owner at Turn Global. So welcome to the podcast.
Well, thank you very much for having me, Tyson. Good to see you here. It's been a long time.
I know, it's been a while. We're we cross paths and work together back at Search Metrics. So been on the podcast before, but been a little while. So we're happy to have you back.
Thank you for having me on the show. It's uh great to be here.
No, and today like one of the things that was looking forward to is a little bit different conversation than we normally have. So today we're like we're talking about leveraging YouTube, gain audience traction. So I think, you know, it's something we're not talking about, AI content generation, which is great. But maybe to to start us off, why don't you kind of give the audience a little more about what you've been doing kind of within YouTube and kind of like setting the stage for kind of your experience in this space?
Yeah, sure. My experience with YouTube began around four years ago. We had the pandemic, so I started a show called Turn Gigi and I had people from all over the world uh dial it and share their tips and advice on different elements of search. And then at the same time I was working as growth marketer at authority as a SaaS platform. And I I set up the show Tea Time SEO and actually we had Many people um come and join us at 4 p.m. traditional English tea time. Authoritas was an English uh is an English company. And so we had them come and share their tips in about 15-20 minutes. And again, we had people from all over the world uh join us on the show. And this time, um less since last November, actually I've been being a co-host with Good Signal CEO Mike Chitzi on
on a show called SEO Office Hours. So my experience of YouTube has been really something that I wanted to do for a while and something that I just initiated myself. and no AI has been part of this show. It is a very much about engaging with others in the community, inviting them to come on the show. And we have a very interactive audience actually at SEO office hours. We have it every Friday at 9.30 a.m. British summertime. So it's midnight in California, quite early in New York. But we do have um we've had a few people dial in from Brazil and also actually New Zealand too. So we can get uh quite quite a wide range of people in from different countries. So having a YouTube show is something that takes planning, takes time and prep and is involving different elements, different um people in the communities that I've been lucky to be part of.
Well I love that you're kinda leaning into the community aspect. And I think that's one of the big benefits of our industry, I feel like, is being that it is a small world within SEO. There's typically a little more level of like openness um in regards to like sharing information. So I love that you're tapping into like that aspect.
