Hey, what's going on? My name is Tyson from Previsual.io. And joining me today is Jose Butcher, who's the SEO team lead at Acceleration slash GroupM. Acceleration and GroupM is a leading global media investment group that specializes in media planning and buying data analytics and digital marketing. Yesterday, Jose and I talked about managing SEO projects on a global scale. And today we're continuing the conversation by discussing managing SEO projects on a local scale. With that, here's my conversation with Jose Butcher, SEO team lead at Acceleration and GroupM. Welcome back. How are you doing?
Hi, Tyson. Thank you very much. Well, good.
So yesterday we were talking everything kind of global SEO. We're talking about a lot of your efforts across different markets, how varying some of the strategies between it and some of the challenges that exist doing kind of multinational global SEO. So switching gears today, from your perspective, how does local SEO differ from global SEO?
authentically answer on the right one is how quickly the local businesses can respond to these business users, right? So it is all about being found at the right time by the right company. I believe this is the stronger and the most valuable asset that any local company has and is the user's content generated. These reviews that are generated from users when they go to your business, this is the most powerful one. We all know global brands, so that's quite easy for us to recognize anywhere these brands. But what happens when you want to go right to the corner shop of the storefront companies? This is the most complicated. And this content generated from other users will be the most powerful asset that any local brand has.
Right. So let's, let's do something Tyson. You and I, we're going to go for a boys
night.
Yeah. Let's go for a boys night. And we want to have some dinner. So for dinner, we have McDonald's. We have Burger King. There are the two options. We all know these two. But we want something more specific. We want like homemade burgers where it's going to be our asset. Our asset is going to be those reviews from other users that we tell us how good the meat is. the pictures, the price. This is really our most valuable element as a local company. And I think that this is where they need, what the local companies need to explore more and more and use it as the first element within their tactics. And I believe that this is the stronger element that they have and what differs from their global SEO tactics.
So it has that hyper like significance or weight of importance on kind of the firsthand local users from that. And from like a prioritization standpoint, like how would you prioritize SEO tactics with local that maybe you wouldn't for national? So, I mean, you hit on one of those right there with kind of like the the focus on and significance and importance of the reviews to kind of answer those like local queries. How else would you kind of like prioritize differently?
Prioritize is a good word. I think what is important is either local or national or global SEO tactics needs to be founded with the right elements, right? They need to have a strong and solid foundation. What is really important when we do a when we prioritize an SEO, local SEO tactic, strategy versus a global, it's what it's going to bring to the company the most, right? So for example, when we focus on a local business, we need to focus on what is going to bring to that
