Stockton. Next one is we're gonna be looking at a game plan. So you're hired as the SEO director for a local marketing agency. What's your first 90-day playbook to improve visibility within your local market?
How do you start a local SEO strategy by analyzing existing data and performance?
I think uh a very first step would be to make sure that all of my team are getting paid a fair wage, making sure they're getting paid what they're worth. But beyond that, I would then look at, well, what what's been successful so far and what hasn't been successful because obviously it's a it's a brand that's got existing presence. So it's good to start with the data and build from there really. So first step, look at the data, make sure that you're understanding uh the success points, the failure points, and build from there. As with everything, I would also make sure that technically the website's in a good state because you can't go anywhere if your website is um falling down around you from an SEO perspective.
And then I'd really look at, well, what is the competition doing?
Why is a technical website audit essential before scaling local search rankings?
What is the competition doing well? What are they not doing so well? Uh, where are the the market opportunities there that we can capitalise on? What are our USPs? Are we talking about them? Are we talking about them consistently on all of the platforms where we're present, et cetera?
What competitive gap analysis steps reveal untapped market opportunities?
So really kind of looking for where is that gap in the market and how can we best engage through it?
Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in. Previsible draws from a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities. They build custom solutions that combine strategy, technical expertise, content, and reporting to effectively operationalize SEO for your business.
How can local agencies leverage unique selling propositions against known competitors?
Pre-Visible's four-stage approach ensures that your SEO programs thrive. By starting off with a strategy first approach. Then they support you in your efforts to create quality content, help you identify technical issues, and most importantly, they'll work with your cross-functional teams to integrate your SEO strategies to make sure that your SEO budget actually drives results, not just your agency's bottom line. So join brands like Yelp, eBay, Canva, Atlassian, Square, all who rely on the SEO consultant. At Previsible. For more information, go to previsible.io. That's previsible P R-E-V-I-S-I-B-L-E. Io.
The beautiful thing about local businesses is that you tend to really know who your competitors are. Um and I think that's a really um great position to be in because you probably know quite a lot about your competitors um and you understand um their limitations as a brand in their offerings and their products. And so you can kind of make sure that you're messaging around what you do offer and how you are uh filling that gap in the market. So yeah. I think that's it. Start with the data, move on to making sure technically you're well shored up, uh, and then move on to looking at USPs and competitors in the market.
