We're gonna move into the kind of final segment of the the interview or the conversation. And we're gonna go into this lightning round. And so I'm gonna throw at you uh a series of questions. There'll be more shorter form, less conversational than we've had, but I'm gonna kind of and there'll be a theme to each one. And so the first one that I'm gonna throw at you is gonna be buyers sell. Are you buying or selling that structured data will continue to increase in importance, or will search engines evolve and be less dependent on this as they understand content and language further?
Why did Google and Bing reaffirm the importance of structured data in 2024?
Ha bay. Interesting. Now can you can you elaborate on buying?
Well, first of all, the Bing and b both Bing and Google reinstated the pr the the importance of structured metadata uh back in March. And that was kind of a catalyst for me to kind of look back at it in a different way. But again, those are not the only agents now. It's it's really about efficiency, you know, saving money and, you know, energy needs for crawling and stuff. And if the structured data can uh add more precision to it, that increases efficiency and makes it a lot easier for the various Asians crawling to understand things. So even with advances and so on. But at the same time it's I also look at it from the perspective of it being uh a jumping off point. to uh more refined languages and how things can communicate.
So good to to have and be conversed in it.
Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options.
How does structured data improve crawling efficiency and precision?
You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in. Previsible draws from a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities. They build custom solutions that combine strategy, technical expertise, content, and reporting to effectively operationalize SEO for your business.

Why are large language models considered “lazy” and how does structured data help?
It's a it's a great point. And I I forget now who kind of like made the call out, but they were saying like LMs are lazy in nature. And one of the easiest ways for that is through structure data. So I'm right there with you on that one. Well, with that, that's gonna wrap up this episode of the Voice of Search podcast. Thanks again to Jason Lax from SAP for joining us.
