It is day 25 of the 30-day walking challenge and one more day in Colonial Williamsburg, heading back to Myrtle Beach later this morning. It's about a five and a half hour drive between here and home. And while I'm walking early in the morning, not as early as I did a couple of days ago when I was out getting coffee. I've already had my coffee this morning, but it is kind of fun. It's a bit of a backstage pass to how they get Colonial Williamsburg ready for all the tourists who walk through primarily Duke of Gloucester Street, visit the exhibits, see the sites, shop in the stores. Most of that opens around 10. Now you can walk on the Duke of Gloucester Street, Dog Street, as we call it here. You can walk through Williamsburg any time.
Dave Paul 2:45
It's not there's not a a gate where you come in, it's it's open all the time. Duke of Gloucester and many of these side streets, as I mentioned yesterday, they're paved. It's asphalt. Not the way it was in the eighteenth century. But it is closed to traffic, so you can walk freely on the road and really Not worry about traffic. Except except early in the morning before ten because that's when they're making deliveries. In fact, earlier I was out and there was a beer truck dropping off beer to one of the bars along Duke of Gloucester Street. There's been some other food trucks, beverage trucks. This is when they do the landscaping. There are a couple of mowers cutting the and here comes it's a truck dropping off.
Dave Paul 3:39
It's a Pepsi truck. Driving down the middle of Duke of Gloucester. Not something you would have seen in the eighteenth century, not something you would see at ten thirty this morning. But before then, that's That's fairly common. There's a bunch of us enjoying a a morning walk. There have been some folks on bikes, so we are enjoying some early morning fitness activities here in Colonial Williamsburg. So I want to share with you a comment, powerful comment, from a viewer to the Walkingness Fitness YouTube channel, someone who goes by the name MaxonCTX. Here's what Maxon CTX writes. Dave, your podcast came at just the right time for me. When I retired six years ago, I got into a sedentary lifestyle, even though

There is a park with a walking trail behind my house. After forty years of nursing I was burned out, and it was a hard transition to start caring for myself after so many years of caring for others. I started the thirty day walking challenge on June first and I haven't missed a day. My motivation is that I don't want to disappoint myself. I know I can do it.
