Dreams are made of this sort of stuff. Welcome, Cam. Hey, Adam. How's it going? I'm going well, but I'm not getting ready to go and play in an Open Championship. You are.
Yeah, it still sounds pretty surreal to me, but no, it's been a long time coming and Yeah, I just can't wait to get over there.
It's a long time coming, but at the same point, it's richly deserved. I know you got it through your runner-up performance in the Singapore Open, but after three wins last year in Australia, I would say you're playing the best golf of your life.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean, I felt like, you know, obviously... one of the rewards that we get for the Aussie tour is, um, is to play a couple of majors, like with the PGA championship in the open and to just, uh, just get tipped at the post, I guess, um, was pretty tough, but to go over to Singapore and, you know, get it done, it, uh, it felt kind of extra special cause I felt like, um, you know, there was a little bit more incentive and, um, You know, those weeks when you can play away into a major, obviously they are pretty stressful. But, yeah, it was nice to sort of get that spot that I felt like I almost had.
Yeah, absolutely. Because I wanted to talk to you about that because that's really hunting a spot where you've got four days to, you know, to show, to prove that the six or so months before that, you know, was good golf. It was almost like validation. But to do it under the gun, that was pretty impressive.

What led Cameron John to his PGA Tour debut?
Yeah, for sure. I mean, the way I played, um, you know, just that whole week was, um, was pretty awesome. And, you know, I sort of had a, had a good look at, um, when they played the live golf event out there and I watched old footage of, um, Adam Scott playing there and, you know, he's won at Sentosa, I think three times. Um, so, you know, I was kind of, I was kind of doing the best I could to prep and figure out, you know, ways in which to go about it because it's quite a tricky golf course. So, you know, to go over there and then put myself in the position and not only that, then come out on Sunday and I felt like I played definitely well enough to win. But, you know, golf's a funny game and...
Obviously, John Wu, who ended up getting the trophy, he did the same thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I want to talk to you about what you're doing now to prepare for the Open Championship because so many Australian golfers, you know, they're playing almost every week from October all the way through to March. And then you've got your kind of your off season. How do you sort of keep that momentum rolling from what you were doing here in Australia over the summer months?
Yeah, I mean, it's been an interesting one. Normally, as you said, it's quite busy from October to say the end of March. And then we have a bit of a low period. And, you know, I normally put the sticks away and have, you know, two or three weeks off just to sort of rest the body and get everything sort of backfiring. But with the Asian Tour, it's been a great opportunity for me just to play a few international series events and then I played well enough in those that also got me a few other events. So it's kind of, it's been nonstop, but you know, I've had three weeks home now for the first time since maybe I'll say September last year. So yeah, it's, it's actually been quite busy. I haven't really felt like I've got,
you know, too much of a break. But at the same time, this three weeks couldn't have come at a better time. I feel like, you know, we're home in Melbourne where it feels a bit like, you know, UK summer almost.
