大家好,我是大老李,今天的话题来自去年年底有人的发表一篇论文,论文的标题就叫“蚱蜢问题”,The Grasshopper Problem. 这个论文提出了一个有趣的问题,说假设让你设计一个草坪的形状,草坪的总面积规定好了,比如是s,你有一个设计目标,就是假设有一个蚱蜢停留在你的草坪上一个随机位置,然后蚱蜢开始起跳,蚱蜢跳跃方向是随机的,但跳跃的距离是一个固定值,比如说d。然后你要设计你的草坪形状,使蚱蜢跳跃后停留在你的草坪上的概率最大。也就是你可以想象拿一只蚱蜢反复地随机放在你的草坪上某个位置,然后让它随便跳一次,距离是固定的。然后统计蚱蜢跳跃后仍然停留在你的草坪上的概率。你的目标就是在草坪总面积固定的情况下,让这个蚱蜢停留在你的草坪上的概率最大。另外要说明的是,你的草坪的形状并不需要是连续的,可以是分成几块的。蚱蜢跳跃距离0-1时,草坪最佳形状的四种类型:蚱蜢跳跃距离0.27时,计算机模拟草坪形状的变化过程中间图(经测试,目前不支持GIF动图:( 订阅大老李聊数学公众号:
