And I believe we have some friends in the audience tonight that have helped with that commission, as well as arts and culture updates, which I believe we'll also have some additional friends in the audience that helped with that. I don't know if we'll have any walk-up music tonight, but we do have Rebecca Hepner in the house and uh she is currently serving as the acting director of housing and neighborhood services and that's because Sean Heath has been promoted to assistant city manager. And I want you to know that both Kim Graham, who I've known since she was a baby, at Johnson C. Smith I would tell the story about her br break br um she was taking the kids to somewhere and I think she ran out of gas or hit the other car, but doesn't matter, it all worked out fine. She grew up and it was great. And then, of course, all of us know um Justin Harlow, who was served with oh, I'm sorry, somebody says they really don't know you well. So, but I remember um Justin as we served at our very first year.

Good evening, Mayor and members of council. Um, I'm excited to be here tonight. We're gonna share with you the recommendations of the best commission, also known as the NEST Commission, in an effort to advance um your work around neighborhood equity and stabilization. Again, I'm Rebecca Hefner, really thrilled to be serving as your acting director of housing and neighborhood services. Um Uh as the mayor introduced, I am joined by our Nest Commission co-chairs, Dr. Justin Harlow, former city council member, dentist, small business owner. Uh and Kim Graham, Executive Director of the Greater Charlotte Apartment Association. And we have a couple of nesters here in the room tonight. So if you can say hello and be recognized, thank you for coming out to join us this evening.

Um Justin and Kim have really provided tremendous leadership on this critical community issue. Uh and I'd like to start off by thanking them and the uh members. of the Nest Commission um for their hard work and dedication. uh to this issue and to charlis residents. So the focus of tonight's presentation will be um the much awaited programmatic recommendations from Nest, but first I want to share a little bit with you about the Commission. And um the citywide anti-displacement strategy, just to put those recommendations in context.
