Well good evening. Welcome to our February fourth, twenty twenty six Planning Commission meeting. Our agenda this evening consists of Commission Business, which uh basically uh consists of our constituting our committees for twenty twenty six, and we will then convene three public hearings. So moving on to commission business. Um So d just as background, we conduct public hearings on Wednesday evenings, uh like like tonight. Generally these public hearings address such matters as amendments to the comprehensive plan, rezoning or special exception requests, or a range of other land use issues. But the Commission also conducts a significant amount of our work through committees. which generally meet every other Thursday evening.

So tonight w we'll be formally approving committee membership in the constitution of our committees for the this uh calendar year, that's twenty twenty six. The chair and the vice chair for each committee will also be assigned tonight. According to our bylaws, the these committee leadership assignments, these uh the the chair and the vice chair, are for two year terms, which includes this calendar year twenty twenty six and then extends through calendar year twenty twenty-seven. Uh commissioners, you received from me a memorandum uh today uh that lists assignments uh to our various committees. These assignments were compiled by Vice Chair Spain and me based on preferences we received from each of you.

As proposed in the Chairman's uh updated member to the Commission dated February fourth, twenty twenty six, may I hear a motion to approve the membership and leadership of the commission's two standing committees, which are the policy and procedures and personnel and budget committees? And the membership of our special committees, uh that's those are the Capital Improvement Program Committee. uh environment, housing, Infrastructure Ландюс процес ревью. Parks. Schools. Transportation and urban development and place making committees. It's been uh moved by Commissioner Bachelor uh Causey and seconded by uh Commissioner Hancock. Is there any discussion? Absolutely, Chair. Thank you. Uh, Planning Commission by laws specify that our committees are to be constituted at the fourth meeting of the calendar year. As Planning Commission Vice Chair, I am charged with overseeing activities of the Commission's standing and special committees. As such, and with membership and leadership now in place, I am this evening. Constituting our committees to enable them to conduct their work during calendar year of 2026. Specifically, I hereby convene and constitute the following standing committees, as mentioned earlier, policy and procedures. and personnel and budget and the following special committees capital improvement program, environment, housing infrastructure, land use process review, POCs, policy plan, schools, transportation, and urban development and placemaking.
