We'll uh go ahead and get started since it's seven thirty and just FYI we need to be done by seven fifty nine, so we have a minute to transition before.

So uh I will try to stay away from being overly verbose and not take up all the time. And Tim will not tell any of his childhood stories.

So uh with that we'll do some introductions so that everybody knows who they are and the people on the who are watching can know. I'm Chris Langraaff, I'm the Franconia District uh planning commissioner and the chair for this commission or committee and
uh Candace Bennett. Um I am an at large commissioner and I'm the vice chair of this committee.

Okay, with that uh so we are here tonight to uh we've got some meeting minutes on our agenda, so if I could get a motion for approval of the November third, twenty twenty November thirteenth, twenty twenty five meeting. So moved. So move, second. Second. Moved and seconded, so those meeting minutes passed. Thank you. And now we are here to uh get an update on the housing task force uh from Miss Miller, Jen Miller, Deputy County Executive for Fairfax County. So, ma'am, I turn it over to you.
Great, thank you, and thanks for uh asking us to come. So I have uh a team of experts. I'm gonna do just a quick intro and then um we wanna leave time to a for you all to ask questions as well. I think you received The slides in advance, excuse my I'm almost better, but still have a bit of a raspy voice. Uh, that include a general overview that Ben will walk us through, and then um just kind of some high-level initiatives. But to set the stage here, I think everyone's maybe aware of the origin of this, and I'm not going to assume that everyone sits through every county committee meeting, but the some of the data in here was covered by the housing and community development in a recent housing committee meeting uh last month that kind of laid the foundation for what uh brought us into this housing.
crisis that we're in. So we have been working on a task force that we'll talk a little bit more about that led us to developing these initiatives that brought us here today. So we're still in the formation, the brainstorming, the pull things together and get input stage. And Ben will talk a little bit more about that, but happy to get your input and answer any questions. I am the uh deputy director for the Fairfax County Department of Code Compliance and I'm also serving as project lead for the housing task force. Um I'm gonna go over uh at a high level some thematic data to contextualize the work that Jen just mentioned. Um and then we'll go into a high-level overview of the the key initiatives that we wanna bring to this group's attention. Um these initiatives uh address aspects from two complementary board matters. First one from August 26th, the economic competitiveness board matter, and then from September 9th.
