Well good evening everyone and and welcome to our October eighth, twenty twenty five Planning Commission meeting. Our agenda this evening includes commission business, including action on minutes from our May meetings, uh approval of the twenty twenty six Planning Commission calendar and a deferral. Uh we will then convene three public hearings. So on to commission business, uh let me start off with a motion to approve the Planning Commission's regular and committee meeting calendar for next year, twenty twenty six. For this I'll turn the gavel over to our Vice Chair Spain. Uh and I move that the twenty twenty six Planning Commission meeting dates as set forth in the list circulated to the Commission on September sixteenth, twenty twenty five.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Um I move that the Planning Commission approve the May first, May seventh, May fourteenth, fifteenth, twenty first, and twenty second uh planning commission minutes. Second.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. And then um the minutes for June, June fourth, eleventh, and twenty fifth have been circulated to the Planning Commission, so we will um take those up at our next uh meeting on October fifteenth. Thank you.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Um in regards to SE twenty twenty three dash D R dash zero zero zero three six, um my intent is to defer to december tenth. So I make a motion to defer um due to additional planning time needed. Um to address the floor plane the floodplain standards, I move that the planning commission defer the public hearing for S C twenty twenty three dash DR dash zero zero zero three six to the certain date a date certain of december tenth, twenty twenty five.
It's been uh moved by uh Commissioner Batterkozi, seconded by Commissioner Bennett. Any discussion? Hearing no discussion, all those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed, nay? Any abstention? That motion carries. Um Finally, uh the Commission's policy plan committee meets tomorrow night, Thursday at seven thirty PM. In the government centre's room eleven. This is a meaning of the comm of the whole. In other words, all the commissioners are members of the policy plan committee. The public is welcome to attend and the meeting will be televised on channel sixteen. The meeting's purpose is to preview staff drafted rewrite of the policy plan um a a portion of the policy plan of the comprehensive plan In anticipation of the public hearing that which is scheduled for october fifteenth.
I also note that I plan to move for a deferral of the Commission's decision only for at least two weeks following the public hearing so that we are able to both digest and act on the feedback we receive. Uh does any Commissioner have any other business to address? Commissioner Cortina?
Thank you, Chairman. I just wanted to mention that Commissioner Spain and I attended a community meeting at the Bonnie Bray Elementary School yesterday for the final phase of construction. And I want to commend FCPS for engaging the community all along in the process. As some of you may remember, this was a pilot program to improve communications with the broader community when we have school construction. And based on the input from the people who were there, they had great words of encouragement for all the the communication and collaboration And um even some of the students, the young children that attended the school said how wonderful all the construction people have been.
